Are you planning to watch NIT Games, as Baylor is likely not making the tournament. What a disappointing team.

Marshon has had a couple crazy games in conference. His performance at Georgetown was amazing and he earned a cheer from the Hoyas crowd after his 43 point performance.

He is actually averagin 27.4 pts a game in the BE as a one man team, shooting 48.5%. Compare that to Kemba who has not been able to score against superior opponents. Do keep in mind however that Providence plays one of the fastest paces in the country and play offensive ratehr then defensive strategies.

Brooks is not highly rated because he was completely off the radar as a junior. Averaged 14 a game on a pedestrian team. Basically he was not a prospect, and as a senior it took him a long time to gather any buzz and get any benefit of the doubt.

I would imagine certain scouts have him rated higher right now then draft sites who work only off "buzz" and really have limited expertise on scouting. It takes time for them to adjust to what the "REAL" scouts are thinking. Scouts only have four more games, maybe five, to watch Brooks play.

He will make the first round IMO.

How often dose he put up good games? From what I've seen he seems to love shooting. But doesn't shoot a high percentage.

He has been playing well in the 2nd half of the season. 5 of the last 8 games were good games (scored 25,26,17,20,17) and he rebounded from a poor 1st half tonight, scored 12 points and 6 of 11 shooting in the 2nd half.

Everytime I've seen Brooks play, it becomes much more clear why Providence loses so much. He's not playing winning basketball out there.

So what now? Does Cleveland getting Baron Davis help or hinder our chances of getting Kyrie Irving saying they get the #1 pick.

It helps them get the #1 pick, I believe acquiring LA's 1st rounder gives them a 4% boost at landing the #1 overall.

I don't think they care what Baron brings on the court, if Kyrie is there I think they'll take him.

Sounds like Walls/Arenas scenario 2.0 here.
Some contender team might picks Baron next season, I assume.

Givony is talking **** with little facts to back him up and to justify his rankings. The two huge games he had almost led upsets of top 10 teams in the country - Providence had no business even being in these games.

Providence loses in the Big East because it has poor recruits and little depth of talent and lost its one other good player Jamine Patterson before the season even started. Brooks does get helped by Coach Keno Davis' style to a degree, but to blame the record on him is absurd.

If BC is still the GM and we have say the 4th pick then wouldn't you think he'd go after a talented Euro centre loll

Draft Express is very high on Jonas Valanciunas, more so then Kanter..which is weird because before going on DraftExpress i'd never even heard about Jonas Valanciunas. He's really skinny but some of the numbers he is putting up are outstanding.

This year, he is competing in the highest level of European basketball in the Euroleague as well, and ranks as one of the top players in the competition on a per-40 minute basis in points (21.8), rebounds (13.6), blocks (1.8), field goal percentage (74.4%), free throw percentage (87.5%), and fouls (9.1). That's quite an accomplishment for a skinny 18-year-old

Anyone else know anything more about him? I haven't gotten the time to go through the previous 2 Draft threads, but any info about him and how the raptors feel about him would be great.

For those of you that don't know there are a few new features to the tournament as a viewer that should be positive:

There are four play in games but they are not all for 16 seeds:

The last four at large teams (around 12 seed) will also have play in games on Tuesday and Wednesday, so there is a chance to see some better talent in those two games. Perhaps Perry Jones could play in one of those games, or the Canadians from Gonzaga.

The BEST viewer news is that the games will be done by both TNT and CBS. There will be no more four games starting within 15 minutes of each other, and all ending at the same time. CBS often did not want to have games interfere with the national news, but that is not an issue for TNT.

Games will be much more staggered out - games should start about 30 minutes from each other, and will be all day.
