No chance the Warriors deal Curry man. I read an article earlier (just after the season ended) and it stated the Warriors weren't looking to trade either Ellis or Curry.

I like the Biedrins angle though, maybe Biedrins and the 11th for 5th and Linus Kleiza is a bit better?

To TOR: Flynn + Pekovic + #2 (D.Williams)
To MIN: Johnson + Barbosa + #5 (B.Biyombo)

id throw in a lotto protected 2012 1st as well (because i know wed be in the lottery so they wouldnt see it till sometime in the future)

I'm assuming it's James Johnson because Amir's contract doesn't fit. So, without the Lottery Protected 2012 pick I'm down for that.

I like it. I'd look to unload Calderon here as I hear they were interested in him. But if this is the proposed deal, I'd pull the trigger. I'd also try and bring in a 3rd team that perhaps could make things interesting.

im assuming the draft goes something like.

CLE: Irving
MIN: Williams (or trades the pick and that team picks Williams)
UTAH: Knight/Kanter (i think they go Knight/Dontas)
CLE: Kanter (or if hes gone another big)
TOR: Walker (wouldnt be mad about this at all)
WAS: Leonard/Vesley
SAC: ?????

could something be worked out to get #7 from SAC? They need a PG we know that, what about Bayless?

Bayless + J.Johnson for #7 (BIoymbo)?

Walker / Calderon
Derozan / Barbosa
Chander* / Klezia
Davis / Amir
Bargnani / Biyombo / Alabi

BC talked about making a FA splash and i think Chandler/Green/Young would fit that bill. I like that team.

or

To TOR: Carroll + #7
To SAC: Augustin + White
To CHA: Bayless + Barbosa + Johnson (absorbed via TE)

* TOR saves 6.5 million in this deal to go after Chandler/Green/Young

* SAC gets their PG beside Evans since all the PG prospects would be gone

* CHA gets a bunch of pieces for Augustin.

Walker / Calderon / PG (FA)
Derozan / Weems / Carroll
Chandler / Klezia
Davis / Amir / Dorsey (re-signed)
Bargnani / Biyombo / Alabi

Bayless / Livingston
Henderson / Barbosa
Jackson / Johnson
Diaw / Thomas
Dontas / Nogueira (#19) / Diop

Augustin / Beno
Evans / Thornton
Green / Garcia / Caspi (traded)
Cousins / Thompson / White
Dalembert / Whiteside

I like the trade with Minny for #2 I also like the trade with the kings for #7. The biggest problem I see is we have a glut of PF's. Andrea is only a PF, he cant play C. Biyombo is 6'9 which isn't good enough to be a legit C. I personally think we are better targeting Kemba Walker to be the heart and soul of the team, almost like an AI with Philly situation. I also think Kanter good fall

Trade 1

Raps Receive

#20 in 2011 (Chris Singleton) and Mike Beasley and Perkovic

Wolves Receive

Jose Calderon + James Johnson

Trade 2

Raps Trade

Beasley + Bayless

Kings Trade #7 (Kanter) + Garcia

Raps Lineup

Kemba Walker - Jaryd Bayless
Demar Derozen - Garcia
Linas Klieza - Chris Singleton
Andrea Bargnani - Amir Johnson
Enes Kanter - Ed Davis

Raps have a very low payroll and then could target Chandler or Gallinari etc

^^ If we got Beasley in the 1st deal (I don't think we would), I'd keep him at SF and deal Bargs to the Kings instead (without Bayless), who could use his ability to space the floor at PF. It's not like they're getting a better rebounder in Beasley, and a Bargs+Cousins frontcourt has the size and potential to be pretty good. Draft two of Kanter/Biyombo/Val/Knight/Walker/Leonard/Burks with #5 and #7, draft Nogueira with #20 (or Bertans/Selby/CoJo/R.Jackson/D.Morris/Tyler, depending on what happens with the higher picks).

Biyombo/Nogueira
Davis/Amir
Beasley/Kleiza
DeMar/Garcia
Bayless/Kemba

we have a good young team (good scoring from the 1/2/3, good defense/rebounding from the 4/5), and we'd be swimming in capspace to potentially go after a real big FA acquisition next year.

I doubt BC moves James Johnson. And honestly, I hope he doesn't.

However moving Bayless or Bargnani for another lottery pick (Biyumbo, Val, etc.) while drafting Knight with our pick would be great.

1st Proposal
Toronto Trades: #5+DeRozan+Calderon
Toronto Receives: #2+Wes Johnson+Flynn(most likely second pick would be Williams but if it's Irving really good)

2nd Proposal
Toronto Trades: #5+Bargnani+Calderon
Toronto Receives: Bynum+Blake+Ebanks

For Toronto any of these fly as good two way trades. I prefer the first but the second isn't bad at all.
For Min. it gives them a really good sg who is way better than wes johnson so a major upgrade there. Then Calderon comes over to help Rubio transition over while giving up Flynn.(for all those calderon haters who say no here u have him for one season then hes an expiring trade him next year)Then simply the #2 for the #5 to even things out. Or if u want u can trade us #2+Wes Johnson for Derozan.
For La They trade Bynum for Bargnani to make him their 6th man, while getting calderon and the 5th pick.

Tor Lineup #1
Bayless/Flynn
W Johnson/Barbosa
Williams/J Johnson/Kleiza(trade him for a C)
Davis/A Johnson
Bargnani/sign a center(Gasol,Nene,Chandler,Jordan,or Dalembert)or Trade Bargnani+Barbosa for Okafor

Tor Lineup #2
Bayless/Blake
DeRozan/Barbosa
J Johnson/Ebanks/Kleiza
Davis/A Johnson
Bynum/Sign Vet C

Min Lineup
Rubio/Calderon/Ridnour(could trade him for a backup sg)
DeRozan/Ellington
Beasley/Webster
Love/Randolph
Milicic/Pekovic/Tolliver

La Lineup
Calderon/Fisher
Bryant/Brown
Artest/Barnes
Odom/Bargnani
Gasol/Character/Ratliff
#5 pick - Knight,Walker,Biyombo,Burks,Leonard,or Kanter if he falls
Image
Raptors list of rookies should be PJ3, Lillard, Rivers, Waiters, or Harkless.
I say draft Lillard, Waiters, or Harkless.

I don't like the first proposal, I'm not a fan of Wes Johnson and I don't like Irving or Williams enough to move DeMar with our pick.

I'd be iffy about the 2nd one, but Bynum is one of the best C's in the league so I probably would, unless we really like whoever is available at 5. I just think the interior D would be so good that we could really compete in the playoffs.. and almost our whole team would be under 25, so we would have many of the pieces we need to grow with. Of course, a lot hinges on Bynum's longterm health outlook, which could by itself nix the deal. I think it's a much better gamble than Oden though.

I doubt LA would do the second proposal. I wouldn't do the first one from a Raptors perspective. I'll go to war with DeMar and maybe Kemba Walker over Derrick Williams and Wesley Johnson.

^^ I wouldn't add the pick swap. To be honest, I'm not all that high on Jrue either. Bayless actually has better per36 production (and even better average numbers if you look at his starts), along with a better TS% and ability to get to the line (Jerryd averages 3.2 FTA in 22mpg, Jrue averages 2.5 in 35mpg).

I'd rather use the pick on a big, or trade for a good young SF that can defend and hit 3's.

what about this

To TOR: #7 + Carroll
To SAC: #9 + Bayless
To PHX: Caspi + TOR 2012 2nd Round Pick
To CHA: J.Johnson + Lopez

TOR gets Biyombo at #7 or kanter one will be there most likely. They come in as a prospect and BC mentioned FA i think the only FA's we can get are SFs like Green/Chandler/Young.

SAC gets a PG and only moves down 2 spaces. Bayless has played well so far and they take i dont even know who. Leonard?

PHX gets SF help with Hill/Carter leaving most likely and would draft Dontas maybe? Or Morris? Gortat is their C of the future, Lopez seems like the odd man out.

CHA gets a C and a SF the positions they need most for #9 all for #9 which works out nicely for them IMO Augustin/Henderson/Johnson/Thomas/Lopez isnt a bad start to a rebuild.

Walker / Calderon / PG (signed)
Derozan / Barbosa
Chandler (signed) / Klezia
Davis / Amir / Dorsey (re-signed)
Bargnani / Biyombo / Alabi

i think that team is making the playoffs next year or at least wont be half bad. Now i think this is a BC move. He is on a 2 year deal, he said hes going to do everything to make sure we dont have a season like we just had. This lineup is pretty complete. Bioymbo hopefully can protect the rim with Davis growing and Chandlers D.

I like every part but Chandler.....let's be patient and do a PROPER rebuild.

Next year's draft has a glut of SFs.

I much rather wait one year to get some young talent with a higher ceiling then Chandler that won't put us back on the treadmill just for the sake of "making the playoffs". I rather watch the Pacers take that glorious honour of getting beatdown in the 1st rd year after year while we build something legit.

That's pretty good, I was looking for a flaw but I came up with nothing. The only road block could be Phoenix giving up Lopez for Casspi and a 2nd rounder but they have Gortat already. Even Charlotte probably gets better value than they'd get at #9. I'd jump on that.

What if Chandler was our 6th man? Or starter until that prospect is ready. Year 1 they aren't going to come in and start. That's what I envisioned.

Walker / Calderon
Derozan / Chandler
Chandler / Gilchrist
Davis / Amir
Bargnani / Biyombo

* after trading Klezia

That looks real good to me. Chandler backs up Derozan. If you sign him to a 4 year deal it's not that bad

I'm not sure if I'd want to do this (mainly because I think I might like the potential bigs that could be available with our pick better), but what about our pick for Nicolas Batum (+#21?) Portland could be interested in taking Knight/Walker to address their PG position.

He's 22, long, athletic, an efficient scorer, and can defend/knock down 3's. I think he'd be a great kick out option for DeMar/Jerryd when they slash to the basket. I don't know if the Blazers would give up their pick in this deal, but if they do, maybe we get lucky and select Nogueira to be an athletic project with high defensive upside. We'd have to look at other means to improve our C position, but our lineup would look like this for now:

Bargs/Nogueira
Davis/Amir
Batum/JJ
DeRozan/Barbosa
Bayless/Jose

Ideally I'd want to try to trade Bargs for another lotto pick to select a C as well (Kanter/Biyombo/Val)

Return to Toronto Raptors
