The more I look around the NBA, the more I realize how thin it is at the SF position. Trading a guy like Ed Davis for Quincy Miller or Evan Fournier who can be drafted and stashed in Europe could make all the difference down the road. Especially if we miss out on the Batum sweepstakes this offseason. Miller and Fournier are both low risk, high reward players that can pay big for us down the road.

DX has Fournier at 22. I would gladly move Davis and our later second rounder or something for him.

Dynamite scorer but is undersized at SG w/ limited PG skills. I think he could become a steal though late in the 2nd round though as a sparkplug off the bench.

He's pretty much going to one of the smart teams like HOU, DAL, IND, OKC. I love it how there's always a Fournier or two in every draft, a player everyone knows will be a steal and great pick for one of those EOY caliber progressive teams, and yet the other 25 or so franchises in the league continue to pass on them! Fournier going as low as 28th to OKC would be an ultimate SMH Spurs steal like moment.

BC mentioned that he likely won't use all three picks, so assuming we don't trade #8 I wonder what will happen with these 2nd rounders.

I would like it if we package them to move up into the late 1st round, and select a prospect that we actually want rather than hoping that someone is still around at 37 or 56. If we could turn both 2nd rounders into a pick in the 20s to select one of Fournier/Wroten/Teague/Moultrie/Melo/Leonard, I think that would be a pretty good pickup.

I still don't get it with him. He's got a nice handle and mid-range game, but I don't see anything that makes him an NBA first rounder.

Satoransky, although coming off a horrible season, has the athleticism, ball-handling, court vision on an NBA guard. And he's shot it really well from 3 in the past.

I'm sure he'll keep the early second round pick #37, but the 56th pick he probably package that. If we're lucky and does a deal that can get us to nab Darius Miller along with who ever we get at 8 I'll be happy.

Ford saying Miles Plumlee doing well in workouts. I think this guy's a rotation player and will get taken top 40, he has really underrated hands (60% 2P is a good indicator), got 13.4 rebs per 40 despite playing beside Mason's great rebounding. Hands and rebounding and solid physical tools would probably be enough for me to take him 37 if Machado isn't there, could very well have a Zaza or Collision type role in the NBA long term off the bench

I still like the idea of packaging both second rounders to move up into the 20-25 range. There are some guys there at that range that could be worth gambling on.

Our two picks (or the ability to use them to move up to a higher pick) can make it much easier for us to move on of Amir/Ed (who are some of our best and more attractive trade pieces). In the 2nd there are a bunch of rotation bigs that could be drafted as our 2nd big man off the bench behind whichever player is kept. Guys like Kevin Jones or Draymond Green could be good serviceable bigs off the bench for many years to come. Or try to trade those picks to move up into the late first with a team trying to get out of a guaranteed contract (OKC, Chicago, Miami) and grab a Melo, Ezeli, Nicholson, White.

Either way with the 2nd rounders we have I think aiming for a big that can be a solid bench player for us is the best use both in the long-term from an expectation standpoint and for the present in looking to make a move with one of Amir/Ed and our 8th to move up for a proven vet.

I can't help but feel despite the insistence of athletic players having the "upside", Machado might have as much as anyone picked out of the top 20. What if he has one of the top 10 basketball IQs/court vision/passing games in the league. Wouldn't that automatically make him a starter even if he's only a reasonable athlete and not a great scorer. I'm not saying it's a sure thing he's a top 10 bball IQ/court vision/"wow this guy's ability to read the game is just freakish" player - But is it within reason? Definitely IMO. I mean he just had the highest assist per game average since 1995 - why not? And it's not like he was Jose-ing out to 9-10apg, he is considered a fastbreak demon like Marshall and makes more through traffic passes in the above clip of 1 game than Jose does in like half a season

And the rest of this guy's profile isn't even that bad either. He's a reasonable athlete, probably quick enough to get in the paint after a good screen, finishes some shots in the above clip (and has the highest 2P% for PGs, an important stat), rebounded well for a PG, has a much better 3pt shot than Kendall Marshall, hits his FTs. The lack of elite athleticism thing, just seems overblown. I mean old as balls Andre Miller is better than 80% of PGs. 2011 Kidd was still good. Rubio is great. Calderon is good. Jonny Flynn is athletic and headed out of the league. How many times are teams going to draft Tyshawn Taylor types top 30-40 before realizing "Crap, being athletic isn't enough to be good at PG/SG in the NBA, you actually have to like, pass and score effectively"

I really think this is THE GUY if we can somehow get 2nd, considering our PG needs. If it takes a bit of salary cap room or even Ed Davis to move up, then do it. I think it's within reason that he could be a top 15-20 starter and an EPIC win this late in the draft. I would be as excited about getting him as I would trading for a 2nd top 20 pick and getting another one of these name guys
