Where did you get that idea of Gecevicius being able to handle the ball? That is ridiculous. He can't dribbble at all, even Seibutis is better at it than him. Gecevicius is a spot-up shooter, that's it. He can't cut, he can't dribbble, he can't get to the rim, and he sure as hell can't back-up someone at PG. I won't even mention his defense. That is nonsense. I would even be more comfortable with Kleiza playing PG instead of Gecevicius.

Come on, he spent an entire 09-10 season filling PG for L. Rytas... He used to spent a lot of time there since junior competitions. He never had the problem with TOs or low assist number when having ball in his hands. Very level headed with the ball. His handles aren't as bad as you say.
Of course hes not a PG, not even close. But he has some experience and skill.

No, I think Del should make the team as back up PG. But I do think Gecevicius should make the team as 5th. guard. Its not stretch because he is 5th. best guard available. I am not saying he should play point, it is not a good sign, but desperate measures man. PG situation is this bad, you might need anyone you could play point for a few minutes, and Gecevicius could.

Yea, at the very least Kazlauskas' teams are always fun to watch, my favorite euro coach alongside Sagadin. His Zalgiris marked the end of the dark age in euroball.

Oh wow, thats a big loss to Montenegro. Their fans must be pissed, their whole campaign was ''2 Nikola towers''. Vucevic is still there, and I see him more of the JV rival than Pek.

According to Jerry Zgoda, beat writer in Minnesota, this was more about Pekovic wanting to skip the tournament than having no contract. He might have used the contract dispute as an excuse to avoid Eurobasket.

In 2010 WC he was amazing, besides Durant maybe the best player in the tnmt. Even last summer in the Olympics he was quite good.

Unsure why ppl can't tolerate a discussion about the NT. I'm a eurobasket fanatic, been watching tournaments for 15 years. I can name the main guys of every roster of the top teams. And most of this NT plays abroad on euro league teams.

Every thread digresses somewhat. And it would be absurd to only discuss jv on his eurobasket thread. Not sure why ppl are getting emotional about debating about his prospective teammates.

I'm sure there will be a eurobasket thread in the intl forum once the tournament starts. Until then, if one even exists, you'll be debating with only 2 other people.
