The Gay trade (and NY reneg on Lowry) backfired in a way. MU was going for a tank, he had the right idea there.
At least he didn't double down now and go against everything he's said he's stood for..he didn't change his philosophy at the deadline, paying up to add a name and a big contract. He's not a dumb guy, he knows the talent isn't where it needs to be now, and isn't willing to cripple our cap to provide a short period of trade excitement.
I'm a little disappointed he couldn't get us a defensive SF on the cheap, but with tanking out of the equation, I'm at least glad he's being disciplined and not blowing his wad here.
