I dont think Amir is kept in 2015. Not unless we strike out on many of the all-star bigs available.

I really don't know... On one hand I preach loyalty (cause he has certainly given it to us) & look for maybe a hometown discount cause he can see what were building... On the other hand I completely understand the ankle issues & potential for bringing in maybe a better talent...

Until then it is just a cap hold that needs to be calculated in my mind cause he is a considerable piece unlike the others (Fields/Hayes/Williams)... If No, take 10.5m off the totals... If Yes, still figure we will save potentially a few million off that 10.5m on a 1st year salary...

Its still free agency period. After teams lose their main and secondary targets or sign guys to the roster, housekeeping begins. Thats when Fields Hayes and Novak can shine. They're the NBA version of Ex-lax.

How would you describe Raptors RGM forum in one sentence?

Maybe 2 years. Not sure which free agents there are next year to throw max dollars to.

EDIT: I would so want Paul Milsap.

Looking at the numbers posted earlier I count $11.3 under the projected tax. Which I believe allows us to resign GV and use the full MLE

Quick calc from the spreadsheet posted earlier... If we don't sign Amir and re-sign GV to a 5M per year deal... We'll have around 21M in cap space?

That is.... insane.

I'm not a cap expert buy I'm pretty sure since Raptors are over the cap they can only use the MLE to sign FAs which is not enough for Deng

Nothing is official yet. Slide Deng into the cap space then resign Lowry etc. The total needs to be under the tax, when everything gets signed.

Your confusing the cap and the tax. We're beyond the point of having any real cap space so no matter what happens the most we can offer an outside FA is the MLE.

Nope. There are cap holds in place for guys like Lowry, 2pat and GV. We really only have the MLE.

We had 20M including cap holds on everyone and Novak. Clear Novak renounce the cap hold on GV. Renounce rights to either Lowry or 2Pats.sign Deng and 2pats and use bird rights on Lowry. As long as we stay under the tax the order of signings and how we sign matters. Nothing is official, things can be moved.

You're just pulling nonsense out of your ass. You can't renounce someone then turn around and sign them, that's the whole point in a cap hold. You're also confusing cap space and tax space, were not going to get far enough below the cap to do what your talking about.

The only way we can add someone larger than the MLE is through a trade.
