It won't happen, but if we can get Cousins I don't care if we throw in a few 1sts.

How is that fair to the Kings

Understandably Raps fans are going to have a high view on their players and indeed many believe JV will continue on the path of being a solid big man. Kings fans believe Cousins can be on the of the best players in the league. Before the coaching change messed with the team's psyche he was just a 24/12/3, efficient guy anchoring defense. We look forward to seeing him with Karl

The Kings will look to hold onto him for as long as they can. He has three years remaining after this and just told Bill Simmons over the all star break of his loyalty to Sacramento and the fact he isn't looking to be moved

Even then, in terms of value, Love commanded the first pick, Bennett and Young. He had only one year remaining on the contract as well

Most people concede that trade was stupid. And JV is already a solid big man, the path you speak of is to stardom.

The most brought up and realistic proposal from us Raptors fans is:

Jonas + Ross + NY/DEN 2016 First Rounder + Expirings (Fields+Hansbrough) for Cousins + Filler

Obviously Cousins has a tremendous trade value, but this is a very nice package no matter how you spin it. JV is obviously the best piece, as he's a 22 year old, 20 PER center that plays both ends of the court and is only going to get better. T-Ross has stuggled this year after some off court issues, but he's still just in his 3rd year, and was looking like a very good 3+D playing for a large portion of last season. Finally, the NY/DEN pick looks like it has a very solid chance of being a lotto pick in next years draft class, which is shaping up too look pretty good. Throw in the fact that we're throwing in expiring to clear up cap space and can even toss in an additional asset like Bebe or a future first, and you're looking at a damn good offer.

I say the Raptors stay with the current roster - and then see how the playoffs go. First round exit and all bets are off. First round exit that doesn't go 7 games (losing in 5 for example), and Masai pulls the trigger this Summer.

Second round appearance and I see only minor tinkering this off-season since the following are likely gone: Fields, Hayes, TH, Stiemsma.....

I think we bring back Amir but he's absolutely coming off the bench. If he wants a big deal and a starting role, I don't want him back even though he's been good for this team/city.

Bebe and Bruno...who knows. Will we ever know what these guys will become? They will not be getting PT.

the front of the rim stops that team easily.

take 4 guys, put them all withing 5 feet of each other offensively and through in a pg that is most effective when penetrating into the same spot.

BRILLIANT!

To be honest, Cousins is way ahead of Jonas right NOW but what about 3-5 years from now? Trade him and then regret doing that?
I hope he gets traded and then **** on Raptors.

Swag wrote:I've had time to think about this and my research tells me Cousins is a poor teammate which may cause chemistry issues. He's played with quite a few of our players in the past such as Vasquez, James Johnson, Hayes and even Demar. Masai would really need to talk to these players before pulling the trigger but either way, I'm not trading a 22 year old stud who is being held back by a coach who thinks he has the same skill set as Hansbrough

I disagree and here is why. My brother knows Nik fairly well and I actually got a chance to talk to him during the summer and one of my questions was about Cousins. He told me Cousins has your back no matter what when your on the floor together. He will fight for you and one time during practice Nik got smacked around a bit by Marshawn Brooks and Cousins went off on Brooks for doing that and yelled at Nik to never back down and that he will always have his back as long as they are on the same team.

If Wolstat is saying that than that means we are in the process of doing a massive trade.

Cousins would be a dream come true, if we only had a future ball and see Marc Gasol wanting out of Memphis , we could make a sign and trade deal...

Cousins averages 18 shots a game. JV has attempted 18 shots in a game once in his entire career. In fact I can only find 5 games where he's even gotten 15 shots in his career. JV would outscore Cousins right now while making far fewer turnovers than DMC if we pounded him the ball for 18 shots a game. We all know that won't be happening though. I'd be vehemently opposed to trading JV for Cousins. If we want a star player - we'd do well to start devising ways to get the one we have in the making more than 8 shots a game.

Yes and if JJ got as many touches as harden HE would be scoring champion.
