I couldn't disagree more. Lowry plays like average starting PG, this team easily wins 45-47 games. He plays like all-star, we probably win 50 games.

Problem is not that Lowry is not playing like all-star but he is playing closer to Dleaguer for most of the season. No team can overcome horrible play from your starting PG. People don't understand how horrible he has played this series, and since the all-star break. He is at the bottom of starting PG, and made worse because he continues to think he will snap out of it by just chucking along. Stop shooting, and just distribute to your teammates.

I agree with most of what was said. I mean we win a few games and we think we are ECF contenders. Many of our fans will go off the deep end as soon as someone else says we are not nearly as good as we think we are...in the end who is correct? Much of our fan base on on RGM are unrealistic dreamers who refuse to consider the opinions of anyone outside our group. Now I for one like to be optimistic about our team whenever possible but I also don't have blinders on about our abilities as a team.

The Piston comments may be a bit callous and mean but they are not too far from wrong.

Time to start planning on the 2015-16 season and look to acquire a veteran "IT" player this summer. Until then Go Raps!

Cheers to a hero-ball comeback to back door sweep the Wizards, an easy dispatch for the Hawks, and then hopefully we can beat the Cavs in 6 or 7, hopefully 6 so we can rest KL.

I think he's been so bad, people don't even comment on it anymore. He was garbage even before the all-star break.. Guys like Augustin/Jack/Jennings/Brooks (I think) had near career games against him, just no one seemed to care when the team was winning. Honestly I don't think any GM (except maybe the brain dead ones like Billy King or Vivek), would touch him with a ten foot pole now..

I mean, yeah, if Lowry was just mediocre instead of terrible, that would obviously be better. But this team isn't winning a playoff series with a mediocre Lowry. The rest of them aren't anywhere near good enough to make up for that (DeRozan especially).

So are you saying Lowry was like Lebron/Durant/Harden/etc in carrying bunch of average players to wins? Even during his peak, team was winning because of balanced team with depth as opposed to having a true superstar. Lowry has being good past couple of years, but even at peak he never sniffed top 5 in his position.

The downfall of this team started with when your line of thought of Lowry putting this team on his back & carrying them become the common myth. This sense of elevating Lowry play + all-star, has resulted in too many nights of 5-22. This team will go no where if it is relying on player of Lowry talent level to carry them.

Yes, Lowry was playing at a top 15 level in the league over that time. If your eyes couldn't show you that much, the stats support that fact.

The team was largely winning because an All-Star Lowry was carrying them to victories despite an inefficient, one-dimensional #2 in DeRozan, a disorganized ISO ball offensive system, and little to no defense being played. The rest of the roster outside of him is quite mediocre to poor (and even the guys who could be more useful like JV and JJ aren't utilized effectively).

The downfall of this team started with when your line of thought of Lowry putting this team on his back & carrying them become the common myth.

Pretty sure the downturn of this team this year corresponded exactly with Lowry's level of play dropping off a cliff, no? When you're asking DeRozan to be your team's best player, that team obviously isn't going to be any good.

Think that's kind of the point. If Lowry can't be expected to provide his Dec. 2013-Jan. 2015 production going forward, there isn't much to look forward to with this group.

it is over and I dont want Casey to be saved by a historical comeback(sorry a true fan should not say that) but it only takes a Game 4 win then one home game 5 victory then all the pressure is on Washington to close it out in 6 on their homecourt

That won't happen until JJ gets to match up with PP/Otto in the 2nd quarter when they always pull away.

unless Casey gets an 'Executive Order' from MLSE.

in spite of those 2nd Qs, If Kyle could have played at even a decent level, we could have easily been down 1 - 2 (some would argue that we could be up 2-1 right now, with any decent play from Kyle)..
