Re: LTU NT and JV at the 2015 European Championship
He's putting up some numbers, but I wouldn't put too much stock in his 'awareness' or mobility just yet.
First exhibition game with a team he barely plays with.. if there was any real development, we won't see it consistently until like game 20 of the NBA season.

You can put stock in his awareness and mobility though. Those are not dependent on team and familiarity.
The first especially. Simple concept to stay within an arm's reach of your man, even outside the paint. And he's not demonstrated he's figured that out.

I disagree man, even in like a pick-up game compared to a rec league game, if your not 100% intense, then your focus isn't there either and you play kinda casual in every respect. And conditioning is a big part of it, too.

I don't think he's fast to do that, especially against those small Austrian players

I suppose that's true. Conditioning might affect him physically and mentally, but you'd ideally want to see some understanding of simple defensive concepts aside from that.
It is only one game though. So there's still much to go in terms of sample size to draw from. But so far it's not looked like he's improved mentally. Only physically, with a minor improvement in fluidity/ease of movement.

Maybe so, but he should still try. In most of the situations I saw where Jonas gave up jumpers, he didn't have to stay so close to the rim. There was no protecting to be done.
And also, he should be able to stay with Jakob Poeltl, a 44% FT shooting, 7' C who plays for Utah in the NCAA. He's given up jumpers and PnR basket to him by playing off him too far. To me, that's concerning.

Dirk, could you gif that Poeltl floater/Jonas contest/Poeltl OREB sequence?

I guess he needs to cut down on Bryan Adams music.

I'm no doctor, but I think he just sprained his groin. Seems OK though.

Re: LTU NT and JV at the 2015 European Championship
That looked painful. Doing the splits as a 7 footer is probably not fun.

Hopefully it isn't too serious, it looked really painful!

Did he just do the split? Doesn't seem like anything serious

LMAO, I am just picturing all of this since I can't stream it at work with North Korean level internet speeds.

Didn't see it. Did it look similar to DD's adductor longus injury?
