Would probably be the worst move this franchise has made short of drafting Hawful Aruajo. People are drinking the upside Koolaid in earnest. Guess dreaming about 649 is more fun than scratch and win.

Damian Ingles and Chris Walker here we come.

I don't know who I would take at this point but I just wrote Skallll after reading the post of the fanboys lol

Bargnani had the physical tools to be good rebounder .. Skal doesn't seem like he ever have the strength to bang inside or rebound because of his stick legs ... I rather draft and develop Deyonte Davis .

Whose Ante in this case? Luwawu? Baldwin? If we're referring to Skal, he's not even close to Giannis as an athletic & measurable specimen. I don't think Skal is close to approaching Giannis from a potential standpoint either.

I look at Korkmaz as a frontrunner. Fits profile of Bruno and Fournier picks, is an upside pick, gets stashed instead of trying to find immediate minutes here

Only its nothing like that at all. If giannis played college basketball in america he would have been a top 5 pick. Skal played college basketball in america and showed everyone how terrible of a basketball player he is while being old for a freshman. Sabonis and kelly are two different types of players also, kelly is a jump shooting big that doesn't have the post moves sabonis has

Sabonis is not posting up anybody in NBA. His only hope is to be a stretch big. And he's not getting post ups with Raptors.

Ok that doesn't take away from the fact that he isn't kelly olynk. Im pretty sure whoever drafts him is drafting him knowing his strengths are scoring in the post and rebounding

If it's about a pick to stash, Bender might be falling in their projections.

Do you not see the problem with what you're saying? All I see is a bunch of "ifs". I'm not even hating on Skal i just don't think we are in the position to take a risk like this.

If there is any team in the NBA that is "in the position to take a risk", I would think it is the 50+ win team that just went to the ECF that can afford to take a chance with an acquired lottery pick.

Nobody at 9 is likely to contribute right away although there is always players that do. Take the upside in Skal and let him develop in a great organization that will spend the time and effort to get him ready for the association.

EDIT: not opposed to trading the pick, but if we keep it I hope Masai is keeping the big picture in mind, and it seems he is as per his presser. Skal baby.

Korkmaz was playing in the Turkish League playoffs until a few days ago and is not doing any pre-draft workouts.
