He plays nothing like George Hill, anyway.

Malachi is as strong defender. Not overly athletic with decent shooting percentages. Head up. Makes the smart play. Moves his feet better than FVV on defense. He's going to be a better defender than Curry and Lillard. He's confident but quiet. I thought George Hill and not a FVV clone. If we get a poorer George Hill we're good.

The other guys mentioned are all-star level players. I feel dirty even thinking of Flynn at their level.

Hill with play-making! Flynn just seems calm and plays like he's 26.

Hill is bigger however. 6'3/4 with a pretty decent wingspan. Flynn seems like a better natural baller.

Hill is a combo-guard while Flynn is a pure PG that has played off the ball.

Hill was always fit. He got even stronger in the NBA. No worries. Silly Pacers needed a PG and traded the Kawhi pick for him.

Hill with playmaking skills and and an ability to create his own shot is a top 10 pg.

Yeah - Hill is a good player. Better playmaking skills and the ability to create his own shot is all-star level. Malachi can't create his own shot either.

Hill is a couple of inches taller and a better shooter percentage wise but the similarities are there. We forget but Hill can run an offense. He can play off the ball because he shoots well but in time Malachi can too. Malachi is good but not that good - yet

Beal nor Westbrook, nor Bertans suited up. Avdija was 3 for 3 from deep and 6 for 6 overall.

PG Westbrook - Neto
SG Beal - Brown
SF Avdija - Bertans - Bonga
PF Hachimura - Bertans - Wagner
C Bryant - Wagner - Lopez

They will be around .500 and could be buyers at the trade deadline.

If I'm a Wizards fan I'm feeling pretty good with Avdija's game last night. Nice shot, smart passes. He was looking like he belongs in the league.

His ability to penetrate was a concern but his pull up jumper is well refined and has deep range. So far, shot creation doesn't look like a problem. Will have to see in the playoffs how he does. Hopefully he cracks the playoff rotation.

Also I'm so impressed with how he looks like he's been here already. You can already tell he will have a long career.

He's such a calming presence and his basketball IQ is off the charts. It's way more pleasing watching him run the team than Fred and he definitely makes his teammates better. Flynn +TD and Flynn+ Thomas can both be lethal combos down the road if they reach their potential. I feel like he can be the guy who can get the team a bucket when they need it with his passing ability or with his scoring. His shot is smooth and just looks automatic. He also moves so fluidly, total opposite to a young OG.

I was slightly apprehensive during the draft but I'm firmly on the Flynn hype train now.

There aren't a lot of good recent comparable players, because he's a bit of a throwback with some aspects from modern guards. But he's definitely a pure point guard. Unlike guys like Fred and Lowry who started out more as scoring guards.

I see aspects of Curry, Dame and Roy in his game, but I also see some things from guards from back in the day like Terrell Brandon, Stockton and Deron Williams.

He can score, but he's really just plugged into the team and reading the situation and making the best decisions.

I'm so glad we have him. He doesn't overdribble, makes the smart play, and plays great D.

I think he has a chance to be our best Pure PG. He does things that Lowry and VanVleet didn't do when they started.

I’d like to see the team do some full court presses this season.
With Kyle, Fred,Flynn,TD and Norm we should be able to give teams fits inbounding the ball with Siakam, OG and Boucher in the frontcourt to intercept rushed passes/disrupt the recipient of the pass.

I think it's an amazing idea. there were a few occasions during the bench mob days that we ran with kyle, fred, delon. I used to love that lineup.

Kyle, fred, flynn, siakam, OG could absolutely cause havoc.

Goes without saying that flynn will be playing with at 1 of Kyle or fred for a significant portion of his playing time. I can't wait to see how those combinations work.

We already had the highest iq backcourt in the league. Adding flynn takes us off the charts in that regard. No team has two guys like that let alone 3.

It's always interesting how people try to make comparisons between players and the thing that usually stands out the most is that the evaluations are typically based on appearance or movement rather than their actually basketball game lol. You'll typically see a white guy compared to another white guy, a mixed race player to another mixed race player and a black player to another black player.

Flynn reminds me of a young Blake Griffen.

This kid is awesome! Didn't realize his team was ranked 1st overall in the country at some point last season. How the **** did he fly under the radar so much? Wow. It's early but this was a huge steal by Bobby and Masai once again.

Any time a non-lottery pick clearly looks like he’ll have an nba career, that’s a good pick. I can’t tell where he ends up, but he’s clearly an nba talent.
