A swiss army knife, in his 1st season he averaged 10/7/1/1/1 and in his prime peaked at 22/12/2/2/2.

Because he played with Kidd and later Nash, he didn't need to develop the playmaking side of his game to the extent that we're expecting Scottie to. But, I'm thinking, if I'm being optimistic, The Matrix is a likely floor for Barnes.

Well the thing with Shawn is they play different. Marion was a guy who stood on the three point line, hit shots, attacked closeouts and made plays in transition. He wasn't a high usage guy and was a player who fed off a primary ball handler. Barnes is more of a creator than he is a finisher and has more upside as a halfcourt shot creator specifically their pullup game, Marion was limited by a funky release. Marion's sneaky good though.

Probably the same posters that laughed at me for wanting Barnes at 7.

I don't see Kemba's bag on offence but the defence has been good. What's with the free throw percentage though? Shooting 20% with a couple airballs. He's shooting over 50% from 3.

Honestly I don't know what Dekker brings to the table but out of that list Watanabe and Wainright are the only two worth keeping. Freddie is hot garbage and Bonga might have the worst BPM in the league.

Barnes' floor is a 4x all star?! Optimistic indeed. I think Barnes' floor is James Johnson with a better attitude. Great athlete, great defense, some playmaking, poor shooting, rotation piece for 10+ years.

Marion was totally underrated. A winning player. Its a decent comp. Barnes has more upside offensively. Less rebounding more playmaker as compared to Marion.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

When we drafted Scottie Barnes, everyone should have known we were taking a project and not to expect anything until about 2-3 years from now. His defensive versatility is his only real translatable skills atm it seems, and any semblance of offence won't transpire until further along his development.

That said, I thought he'd be a better finisher at the rim and in general more assertive on the offensive side of the floor. Last game, we were up by 20 points and whenever he got the ball he wasn't even attempting to score, which was somewhat perplexing. I'm going to give him a pass just cause I don't think he's properly conditioned for back to back games but i'd like to see him assert him self a little bit more, especially when we have the clear advantage and lead.

tonight different

last 2 games, raptors limited Barnes’ minutes and usage, messed with his shifts, experimented with him off ball because they were back 2 backs and he a rookie not used to nba grind and they don’t want to risk kicking off his career with an injury in summer league

not the case today. Expect Barnes to be featured more, more playmaking, similar to game 1

There won't be any point of bringing him back if we're trading dragic for powelll+brown. I don't think Freddie is an NBA player anyways

If Barnes becomes JJ that would be extremely disappointing with the 4th pick. Suggs would end being better than James Johnson without a doubt.

That’s his floor so at bare minimum he would be like JJ.

I think Barnes will most likely peak as an elite glue guy. That’s more than fine for a fourth pick.

Jalen Johnson dropping to 20 because of his ‘character’ when it was clear he had lottery talent is interesting.

15 points 6-9 shooting at the half.

Some people here said he's simply not good enough and said he does nothing on the court. It was hilarious.

"He's so f***ing soft!" - Coach K.

Jalen Johnson will always thrive in a SL/open gym type game. We'll see what happens in a real NBA game with coaches who yell at him, or if he doesn't get minutes right away. Dude is known for giving up instead of fighting through adversity. Changed high schools 3x in 3 years before quitting on Duke. Moved to the prestigious IMG Academy but retreated back to his home HS without ever playing a minute.
