I'm not dumping on him and didn't you just dump on Banton even though statistically he had a much better game than Suggs.

So are we going to post when Suggs has a good game too?

Also precious looks like the next pascal siakam...

In fact I see a little more upside because he's a more explosive athlete.

This might be the best prospect we've ever drafted. I'm getting rookie Bron vibes - minus the GOAT level scoring ability. I'm getting superstar vibes from this guy though. Like Vince/McGrady level except more of a winner, less of a scorer. I know I sound like a homer but I got a really good feeling about this. I can see his impact/advanced stats being through the roof when he hits his ceiling.

For a rookie, court vision is off the charts. IQ is off the charts. Feel for the game is off the charts. Maturity is off the charts. Energy is off the charts. Defence is off the charts. Athleticism and length is off the charts. Another year, another blessing for Raps fans. What a run this has been.

Re-draft draft board:

1a. Primo
1b. Barnes
3. Delano
4. Suggs

I think this will be the starting lineup by the end of the year.

That should be the starting lineup at the beginning of the year... it at least has to be a potential closing lineup...

Only thing is I'd maybe bring achiuwa off the bench because he looks like the next siakam and he can help run bench mob 3.0

Fvv/flynn
Barnes/Trent
Og/yuta
Siakam/achiuwa
Boucher/birch

If banton keeps playing well he and Flynn might even be interchangeable. Depends on if you need more shooting or not.

Honestly Goran is odd man out here. I realize he's an experienced but I'd rather go big and develop young guys. Hopefully we can get a nice deal for him soon.

I'm still not getting superstar vibes as he doesn't have anything resembling a half-court offence yet, but the potential is there.

Seems too naturally raw to be a superstar but he's definitely gonna be part of the core of the team for the long haul. Might retire a raptor and looks to have a Lowry esque intangible impact.

Also I feel like Barnes was destined to be a raptor and seems to thrive in our system... I can't see him succeeding on any of the other top 5 lottery teams... (if cleveland, Detroit, Houston, orlando he might look like bust... on this team it looks like his all around game will make an immediate impact.)

I'm sure you will find plenty of people who will do that.

I just found it hilarious that you bashed a 2nd rounder Banton who actually had a pretty good game and then got offended for seeing someone post Suggs shooting numbers tonight.

Yep, his offensive game, especially off the dribble pull up is smooth, I just hope he gets some real PT

He doesnt have to score much, but he's just so involved in every play in one way or another. It's hard to quantify or explain, but if you played ball you get what I mean. You just need a guy like that on your team to win and it has nothing to do with his personal stats.

Idk why you need to have played ball to understand scotties intangible impact... in fact this is what all the analysts have been raving about in terms of his strengths and its obvious even just watching him...

Anyone noticed Scottie's patented fastbreak dunk? He slowed his dribble then stare down at Milton before the dunk lmao

I feel you guys on the scoring but..... if we could turn 5th option/energy rookie Pascal into a 20 point scorer, 5th option/energy rookie OG into a 16 point scorer, undrafted off the bench FVV into a 20 point scorer, raw as hell Demar into a 27 point scorer, I'm not even worried about the scoring. He'll develop that here. I'm more fascinated that other than that, everything else is a strength for this guy. There's literally no holes in his game, only superstar level strengths (passing, defence, length, quickness, etc.) It's absolutely nuts.

And then there's the off-season footage of him dominating runs, articles about him being the star of open practice, every chance he gets he has the most winning impact (highest +/-, defence picks up, we're like 5-1 so far in training camp/pre season with him being the glue guy).... it's actually crazy. These are really good signs.

I commented on a player on the Raptors. You commented on a player not on the Raptors
I find that quite funny.

Barnes is going to absolutely infuriate half this board a couple times a night with some really dumb and overly risky passes.

Barnes by his 3rd year will also have a better passing highlight package than any Raptor in history.

Some of the reads he makes would be incredible for a 5th year PG never mind a guy who only played one year of college off the bench.

You can't teach high end passing, hustle and work ethic. The other stuff hopefully comes along.

For all the nice guards we’ve been producing in Canada (Murray, SGA, Brooks, and now Primo) I wish we could produce some high end bigs too. All our bigs are role player level (Birch, Boucher, TT, Olynyk, Clarke)

My biggest takeaway: we have a real team and they play with joy.

It was so awesome to see fred and dragic having fun with Barnes. Also Yuta, Banton, precious, barnes and svi looked like they were having a blast. Our bench was constantly hollering and having fun.

Turns out this looks like a really good chemistry in terms of camaraderie. You got your serious guys like fred. You got your quiet guys like OG. Fun guys like scottie. Intense guys like precious. Glue guy like dragic.

Gonna be a fun season. Having a vibe like that isnt everything. There's been successful teams who dont have a vibe. But the contrast between the raps bench and the philly bench was pretty stark. We're gonna play with joy and its gonna be part of our identity which is awesome to support and cheer for.

Flynn looked like the only guy that didnt belong at the party. He seems increasingly sulky.

A look at Precious' made field goals. There is some legitimate skill there. He looks smooth shooting the midrange jumpers or 3. His handle looks good. He was able to grab and go and finish with control. Just turned 22.

All the attention went to Barnes rightfully but might have something here.

Also, I love the longboi experiment. Raptors really need to go all-in on the idea.

His passing was in this game was even better than I thought. I just thought his passing was good for a guy his size, around average level for a guard

After what we saw with those Jokic type passes, now I think he can become a legitimate playmaker. I’m so excited for how he can develop so many different parts of his game

Scottie just OOZES potential
