Trent was the one who got benched when he struggled....FVV on the other hand has a loose leash, no matter how bad he struggles Nurse won't tighten that leash.

Nurse just commended him in the media yesterday and Trents been playing the best basketball of his career. Freds been the one sulking through the media

Trae Young started the season poorly and I can’t deny that but in his last 10 games he’s shooting around 39-40% from 3 while putting up something like 29/10. I believe he’s turning the corner.

Trae takes twice as many 3s as Scottie and the 3s he’s taking are much more difficult. Only 35% of the 3s Trae takes are assisted whereas for Scottie it’s 82%. You can’t just look at the 3-point percentage. Trae is taking the more difficult 3s and he’s creating most of those shots on his own.

I think his passing and playmaking are elite on top of his scoring and offensively he would fit like a glove on this team.

The reason the point of attack is such a big concern for the Raptors is because they have no rim protection. We’ve seen many teams win with a poor defensive guard. It’s not a big deal imo if there’s help behind them.

If we are trading for Trae then they must get a Turner or Poeltl.

Like mentioned before Trae will cost Barnes. Plus whatever to meet salary. And then Turner will likely cost two picks. Also, would need to trade Fred and Gary. I don't want to watch either of those players playing with Trae. Trae, OG and Pascal is a nice trio though I'll concede that. Pass. I'd rather retool thru the draft this year.

I have a hard time believing that the Pelicans would give up Dyson Daniels plus other stuff for OG.

Fred is also the one speaking to the media after every game. He has a guaranteed starting PG spot here, the green light to do what he wants on offense, and a coach who doesn't call him out. None of these are things he can count on in another situation. I think he's gone if he can get better contract elsewhere (understandably), but that's about it.

Plus, they are really going to pay OG on top of Zion, Ingram, CJ. This not Golden State. They are going to sit on their cheap rookie rotation guys most likely. They are most likely to give up something to dump Devontae Graham’s money for next year cause they will be deep in the tax.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Raptors fans on realgm thinking of cashing in on NO's abundance of young promising players and picks and then enter Reeko and Zeno.

Is it just me but isn't the whole "bet on yourself" mantra kind of tired at this point? I feel like its so individualistic and so focused on getting the bag.. I always thought it was problematic but shrugged it off, but I'm guessing now it seems like he is so focused on his next contract that it has become such a distraction and has put so much pressure on himself to perform.

I always thought it was interesting that he declined his 2nd deal wanting to test the free agent market to only come back to the team when the market did not offer him more then what we were offering. Now its much of the same, there's a few teams that may be interested but just don't see the market for a 29 year old undersized guard with back issues.

Not only are they not Golden State, Gayle Benson is viewed as one of the stingiest owners in the league.

I think they have a conversation about it, OG is arguably the best 3&D player in the league. We might be seriously undervaluing what OG brings to the table.. and probably overvaluing what FVV brings haha

I'd guess OG. Vegas odds suggest he is most likely to be traded. CJ must know something. GT senior I believed stated that GTJ would happily stay in TO provided they pay him, but of course that was before the benching. lol

Where there's smoke, there's fire, and last summer was a Cheech and Chong minibus (with respect to OG rumours).

I personally believe Gary is the piece that doesn't fit. He's not a willing passer, which doesn't work on this team and pisses off everybody else. He won't resign with the Raps if he has to come off the bench. Let's see if the team's mood changes when Gary is traded for bench scoring or a starting C before the deadline.

Where is that info coming from? It's reported that they are building a new arena for the team, she handed David Griffin full autonomy to build out his staff, and its been reported that she already has 500 million dollars in escrow to cover luxury tax payments for the team. I don't get a sense that they will be penny pinching when they have a generational talent like Zion in the building.

That’s the way I am, that’s my personality, that’s everybody in our organization’s personality. We want to win. That’s the bottom line. If we can do it in football, I think we can do it in basketball as well.” - Gayle Benson

OG for Dyson, Jaxson Hayes, and picks.

Swapping OG for Jones in the starting lineup improves their defense and shooting. Feels like a potential win-win.

OG for DD, Hayes and Kira Lewis JR works in the trade checker. Plus picks. Or even better try to get Murphy lll along with DD. NO's is one of the few interesting destinations for OG.

The trio of Zion, Ingram, and OG would cement the Pelicans as contenders for the next 5 years in the West. I would be shocked if their FO isn't on the phone with Bobby/Masai right now.

Yeah, that's a legit squad ready to contend now. Og could anchor their defense. He'd slot in sooooo well.

Raptors would only get one of Trey Murphy or DD tho. With the picks they'd give up there's a need to maintain a high upside prospect.

GTJ is defintely getting traded or will be in a S&T in the off season imo.

He's handling everything like a true pro but you don't pull the crap that Nurse did to a player who's in a contract year. GTJ won't forget that.

I think we go the opposite way. We go all in for Beal. Wizards are going to tank and will move Kuzma. Beal has a no trade clause but for the right team and package he will come.

Trent
Flynn
Boucher
2023 Unprotected
2025 Unprotected
2024 Flip
2026 Flip

For

Beal

Fred/
Beal/
OG/Thad
Siakam/Precious
Scottie/Koloko

Its a true buy low option and Beal will fit in nicely as a clutch shooter and someone who can create from the perimeter. Yes that contract is bad which si why we only need to trade fewer picks and Trent as the true young player. Wizards get to tank and resign Trent to a decent deal.

I just don't see the FO doing that, they are just wayy to conservative. If they balked at KD, they will pass out for Beal

Well after doing some research, that new arena would be largely funded by public money. That's if it even happens, because that is far from being set in stone.

But as to Gayle Benson, it may have been her late husband who was the cheap one when it came to the Pelicans. From all reports I've found and reading what the fan base is saying, she is trying to change that perception ie getting a separate medical staff for the Pelicans.

Beal plays about 25 games a year. He's one of the last guys I'd go after. LOL.

I don't want Beal but other than last year - Fred has played less games than Beal every year of his career.

I'm not super familiar with Beal's game because the Wizards don't make the playoffs but my gut tells me Beal needs a great screener to open up his game. Aside from that minor issue it seems a lot to give up for an incomplete team. The 2019 team would eat them alive.
