i mean we have two of them and posters wanting to trade RJ because he is a ball hog. Never understood the rationale. RJ has been the only player that is consistent all year round and this only proves why is is top 3 pick.

We are not going to find 4 good players each off-season, but I guess that makes up for the few seasons of finding 0. Just the way **** crumbles sometimes I suppose

something something, but they always trade away their 1sts.

People have a really strange habit of being HYPER critical of our FO but not of others. Again, take the Norm whining.

You hear so much about how we dropped the ball ,terrible trade. We actually got a player that played a lot of consequential minutes for us.

What did Portland get? Check that return, it's super yikes.

It's a twisted view that so many FOs are better than ours when in reality they just aren't.
People get WAY to caught up in results and not process.

The reality is that there is so much outside the control of a FO. Trading a 27yo UFA for a 22yo RFA that (at the time) had potential and was playing quite well is a trade you make 100/100 times. Sometimes it doesnt work out but it doesnt make it a bad move.

You can see it in the TWO thread. People seem to think top 5 pick = instant star. The reality is most top 5 picks simply do not become that, even for the best of FOs, but it does not mean the top 5 isn't still the best place to find good players. However, it is FAR from any sort of guarantee.

Don't wanna derail a Battle thread - but RJ has been far from consistent

He needs to be force fed more minutes. Part of why Bruce brown and Boucher should be moved out. Hes a lot of fun to watch and I think hel top out as prime Danny Green or even a Robert horry which would be an extremely valuable player

Prime Danny Green was one of the best c+s guys in the league who made all-defence teams and won rings in 3 different locations.

Horry is probably a better guess. 6th man candidate who again won rings on 3 teams.

If he reaches those levels that means we have one of the best undrafted players of all time.

I would say shooting wise he might the ceiling of a DG but defensively he's nowhere near athletic enough for that. Not too say he can't be a good role player but I think it's unrealistic to expect prime DG defensive value. I'm hoping for a neutral defender with elite shooting.

I will pat myself on the back saying Battle was a keeper from the time I saw him in the summer league and especially after preseason.

Thank God we didn't fumble that decision. This guy is already a rotation level player on almost every team in the NBA.

He’s now very much on the scouting report. Teams run at him hard on closeouts. Next step for him is to learn how to attack a closeout with his dribble. He will get there.
not strong, only aggresive cuz the power ain't directed/ that's why, we are subjected to the will of the oppressive

He'll get used to the speed. Tonight he attacked one and lost the ball. :-?

I think he has a chance at a Georges Niang type career. Maybe slightly better. Going beyond that while not impossible is pretty unlikely. Currently he is just an upgrade on Jordan Nwora who I remind people some here were losing their minds over. He is a very nice find but we’ll see how he progresses.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

how does "exhibit" stuff work?! I cant believe he is a 2001Baby like Our All-Star.. He really feels like we have to sign him LongTerm ASAP! He is our very first Guaranteed-it-is-going-in-when-open

He's played in 26 out of 29 games so far and there's basically no reason for him to be out of the rotation at this point.

Guessing we'll be saying bye to Fernando who doesn't even play when Jakob is injured, and converting Battle. He has earned it.

exhibit 10 is a camp signing, where if after being cut joins the minor league team and stays there for 2 months gets a bonus salary.

raptors after training camp signed him to a 2way(thread title needs to be updated), he beat out all the other exhibit 10 singings, chandler, gurrier, rhoden etc etc who are still with 905 and will get a bonus on top of 905 salary for staying 2 months.

as for battle, on a 2way he can only dress for 50 games max, i assume after the deadline the raptors will sign him to one of those 4 year deals, leaving themselves flexibility with the roster spot until then.

he has dressed for 27 games so far out of 29, 22 games until deadline, so he will be at 49 games at the deadline(barring an injury to him)

Quietly up to a 66 TS% and an even more impressive 65 eFG%.

3.8 3P per 36 is excellent volume as well. He's been by far our best shooter when accounting for volume as well.
