I thought Dick played really well the two threes he hit later in the game turned things around
He had a steal Played some decent D
I think he will turn it around
Would love a C that can block shots and pull the D out a bit
Would love as PG that can penetrate the d off the bounce
lol where are all those Raptors fans that wanted to trade RJ AND our first to get Cam Frekn Johnson
Jesus -
RJ is slowly turning into our next Kyle Lowry

It almost looked like the practice threw off their rhythm. There were a lot of plays where they were waiting too long or passing to no one, or turning down open shots.

The statlines will be wonky here. Shead was a lot better than his box score. Same with CMB. These guys were a part of the line-up that turned the game around, and they took difficult match-ups.

CMB can play centre

Hawks look like a much better defensive unit with Trae out of the lineup. I thought they were doing a good job of packing the paint in the first half and basically nullified anything inside. Scottie couldn't really get going offensively until Darko put 4 shooters out there with him and he could get downhill but at least he was engaged defensively.

All Battle does is win his minutes, at some point he should be rewarded

We should get a good defensive back up C and a Pg like TJ McConnell, for Agbadi and whatever seconds we have. In other words consolidate without disrupting the flow and cohesiveness of this team. We round out our team nicely without gutting it. Unless there is a big trade that presents itself and we benefit from it.
Hopefully CMB and our young wings Gradey and Walter can contribute in a meaningful way from the bench this year.Nicely surprised by Shead and Mamu, super solid and getting paid minimum. Honorable mentions to Battle, he may be our specialist 3 point shooter coming off the bench regularly.

Great all around effort. Thought Ingram played well all around this game, Scottie as well. iQ and Barret came on stronger in the 2nd half and with our consistent defense effort, that was enough.

Scottie played in control all night, looked really locked in and composed. Good pro win.

At this point, Walter needs to go to the Gleauge.

I like the idea of him as a player and some of his toolseyness, but he just isn't contributing to winning.

Battle has earned this and will win us games

From a Win Shares perspective (which highly correlate to real wins), Ochai has been worse than Ja'Kobe heading into last game, and the worst player on the team so far in general. The only reason Ja'Kobe dipped below him was because he had a bad game yesterday, while Ochai didn't have the chance to have another bad game because he caught a DNP-CD.

What I don't want is Poeltl hurt and Mamu or CMB have to play against starting 5's.

To answer your question, have them share the 4. I don't want CMB getting starter minutes anyway.

Share the 4 and split 15 mins between them?

After last night’s game, Raps are in top 10 on defence. Pretty impressive after that terrible start on defence.

Maybe I'm wrong, is Mamu or rookie CMB a backup centre on a playoff team?

Not sure I understand the concern about Mamu as a backup C? He has the best DRTG on the team while also being really good offensively and spacing the floor for us.

Size still matters. Yes Mamu played great, especially in the first half where we needed it. But in the end, its only ok against the bench of other teams. Against other Bigs, he has troubles, because of his lack of size.

He's not small by any means. 6"9 and 240 lbs with a 7"1 wingspan can play the 5 especially in backup mins.

What backup 5's are giving us trouble? Those same lumbering bigs also have to guard him on the other end out in space.

Just depends what advanced stat you like in the small sample size. Ochai has a better NRTG and one of the best DRTG on the team but going 1 for 11 from 3 has obviously dragged down his WS number.

What’s better than a pizza party? Has there ever been a 4 game win streak in the Darko ages?

East is completely wide open. Only teams I'd have as guaranteed top 6 teams are Cleveland and New York.

Bucks and Detroit also. I dont buy what the 76ers are showing.

No way the Bucks are guaranteed to be in the top 6 when it's so heavily reliant on one player.

Need to see more from the Pistons before thinking they're a top team. I'm still not really buying a roster that has Jaden Ivey and Tobias Harris as their 2nd and 3rd options.

I thought Dick had a good 2nd half and was one of the reasons we came back in the one. He definitely made Scottie’s life much easier. I still have hope.

Ochai seems to have regressed. Walter is just lost in this roster and I can’t really form an opinion of him.

Thinking about it more…

I really liked Dick’s process last night. Second game in a row where he didn’t look rushed or sped up all night. He was mostly on balance and in control (except for one transition layup attempt). I also thought he did a good job defensively. Nothing spectacular but didn’t give up any blow bys or lose his guy off ball. He also got his nose in on some lose balls/rebounds.

Barnes didn’t have much room to operate. But we also didn’t use him as a screener as we have been in previous games. It felt like he got zero screen and roll opportunities this game. Also, when Barnes misses his first few shots it tends to be a bad game scoring-wise for him (and when he makes his first few it tends to go well). I do like that the team started getting him the ball to start transition in the second half. I think his teammates are really starting to understand that Barnes’ most effective play type is to get the ball up the floor quickly and pass it off to a teammate to create an advantage. We almost always get a good look when Barnes gets the ball in transition. He had a few defensive lapses that I didn’t like, but overall was okay on that end. He didn’t shoot it with any confidence last night. He sorta floated into his jumpers.

RJ…last night was the version of him that lacks impact. Just a lazy game defensively and forced it too much offensively.

Battle needs a consistent 15-20 mins per game. Sorry Walter but you don’t do enough on offence to justify your minutes.

Speaking of, Walter needs to go to the G-League and get force fed opportunities to dribble and shoot. He does not play with enough force. He needs to add 5-10 more lbs, and to work on his fundamentals. He is smart and a hustler, but he needs to have more impact offensively. Too often he catches the ball and can’t do much with it because he doesn’t make decisive decisions with the ball…which I think is related to not being confident in his fundamentals.

I really like Mamu. He’s really bought in. He plays every possession hard. He knows where to be on both ends. Only takes good shots. He boxes out. He does everything asked of him. Great pick up.

I love Ingram’s scoring ability, but he needs to be more willing to dish it off to open teammates when he’s making his move. I know he can score and he’s confident but sometimes I’d rather he move the ball after he sucks in the D instead of taking a tough turnaround midrange jumper. Overall, his offence saved the day last night when we needed to get some buckets outside the paint (since the Hawks weren’t letting us get in there).

IQ hit some massive threes throughout the game. Every one was needed.
