His deal's non-guaranteed but it sounds like they very much intend to keep him beyond the deadline. And no matter how you slice and dice this, Mo Bamba just isn't a very good player at 27 years old after having been given all kinds of opportunities by multiple teams over the years.
Raptors seemingly have shown strong desire to get under the tax line so even they themselves agree they shouldn't be a tax team and for them to do this now for someone like Bamba does not look good on multiple fronts: whether it be Poeltl injury, the team getting under the 1st apron, or trade market for our backup SG's.
If none of this sounds positive to you, maybe that's just how things are.
