They were from the South. One of the guy even said that his father went to the US. Regardless their English is closest to the US as any English speaking country. I lived in Atlanta btw

huh. I guess I need to get my ears checked or something

Donut has more potential for sure, but the reality is completely different. Lesser role and tough coaching should benefit him, but as of right now, talking about current performances and game, Donut's impact on games is disappointing.

Its plain and simple : Jonas is one of the most efficient scorers in Eurocup/Euroleague, while Donut is one of the most inefficient scorers in Eurocup/Euroleague. The only thing Donut supposed to be really good is scoring, and yet he fails miserably at that.

Jonas is simply a superior player, and all he need to do to succeed is to translate his great Euro game to the NBA. Donut on the other hand needs to change his approach completely. I really hope he does tho, but I simply saying, that as of right not, there is no logical reason to like Donut more. I think some Donut supporters judged him from youtube videos, because he looks like a super star in those, hes like Euro Perry Jones.

Yes but Motiejunas had his team on his shoulders and Jonas didnt. Its different then you need to be 1st option of your team and I believe Donut is more suited in fast pace NBA rather than Europe but if he wants to be good player in my opinion he should addanother 10-15lbs and play in post like Pau did. I dont see with his skillset why he cannot be atleast poors man Pau in NBA.

That is true, Donut faces tighter defenses and it hurts his efficiency. But he never was efficient anyway, and being first option dint excuse bad shot selection. He is go to guy, who takes most shots, yet his % and PPS is one of the worst among his own team. So I always keep asking myself - is he really helping? Or is he hurting his team?

Again, with a lesser role and better coaching, he has a chance to succeed. His skill set is good, he just needs to know his limts. Thats a thing, he is ''Anakin Skywalker'' type of guy who never had guidance, he can do whatever he wants and he does that. If he would get benched after every single stupid shot he attempts, he would mature and become a good player (he is not a good player right now).

Jonas silently became the main guy who has the most impact, so i say he is carrying his team on his shoulders. He is team leader in most main categories like PER and so on.

rational people should understand he will struggle, a lot. Others are just haters or delusional optimists.

At least Fields will be here ... :violin: His poor man's Kleiza game should bring a lot of attention to him and Brian Colangelo... Jonas shoudn't be the be the main scapegoat.
When you hit new lows, you hit it hard, and BC just crashed into it like a mad man :noway:

I'm not saying he will be a bust but when you play teams like this without authoritative big men that he's going up against, you have to expect him to have better performances. I understand that this is a NT game and he's not going to go out and drop 20 &10 in them, but I'd like to see him pull down a few more rebounds at the very least. I like his game, but I don't think that he'll ever be able to bang down low with NBA bigs. He'll still be effective of course but he'll have to rely heavily on length and positioning in order to succeed. I really like his quick springs when he goes for the alley oop slam off the pick and roll it's almost Howardesque the way he gets up there. But for him the main thing I'd stress in footwork on the low block. He has the finishing ability, just needs more moves. If he can be a 15 PPG & 10RPG Center then that would be amazing. I just hope that Casey actually makes him somewhat of a priority in the offense so in a few years time he can accept the responsibility of producing offensively every night.

The one thing forgive able about Val busting would be how bad the top 10 in 2011 is already. It's not like Minnesota, Utah, Cleveland, Washington, Charlotte, Detroit had franchise changing picks. Nobody had Burks, Motiejunas, Leonard, Faried as top 10 picks so it would be seen as a wtf can you do situation.

I said this last year but there wasn't really any reason to separate #5 in 2011 from #9 in 2009 or #13 in 2010. The quality of players available at 5 made it equivalent to a 9th-13th pick. So Val should've been treated a lot more like the Demar and Ed picks than a top 5 pick franchise changer.

Don't forget though, that in this year's draft he was said to have been picked 2nd, so your point isn't really that valid IMO.

Not too worried about this game. The players clearly didn't care and were not concentrated. However, if they want to win against Puerto Rico they have to play like they did in the first game - and I think that's what's going to happen.

So for Lithuanian to make it to the Olympics they MUST WIN against Puerto Rico tomorrow at 8pm EST?

If they win then they essentially have two chances. They either have to win their game on Saturday or Sunday to qualify

Yup, if they win this one, they have two chances to qualify.
If they lose this, Val goes to summer league.

Either way, Jonas Valanciunas will be the only Raptors related news that will be good this offseason. It's been a depressing one so far...

Biggest game of the year. I'm honestly torn. I'd like to see him get more minutes and more attention from the coaches. At the same time if he goes to SL he's facing scrubs. Then again it gives him a better chance to work on his strength and conditioning.

They should play better, dont underestimate Puerto Rico team, they look very good, actually even better than Lithuania. Rico is biggest flip floppers in basketball tho, it is hard to predict anything, but I would say Rico has higher chances to win...

Same here, thats why I'm pissed. Team ranked 5th in the world should do better than they are doing.

Rice can win this one.

If they have a good game and Lithuania will have a good game then Rico will thin. But the thing with Rice is that they are just so unstable. You just never know when they will switch to bad playing team.

Lith is also going up and down but tehy do have more stable line there.
