I think we're still in the market for a backup C - someone on the level of Hansbrough and Augustin to come off the bench. Any ideas?

Hansbrough/Fields/Novak/Ross/Augustin isn't bad, but I'd rather someone else at the five and then play situationally with Fields and Novak.

Wright, Mozgov, Oden, Aldrich and then scrubs after that.
I wonder if a trade for a young struggling C is possible.

Is it possible that durant signs with the raptors in 2016, I remember he said he loved the raps growing up multiple time. But do you think it's possible to bring him in.

Sign Wilcox and Wright for the min. and resign Anderson for the min.;
Waive Richardson and Fields with the stretch provision.

Lowry / Augustin / Buycks
DeRozan / Ross / Anderson
Gay / Novak / Wright
Johnson / Hansbrough / Acy
Valanciunas / Wilcox / Gray

I bet a penny that this will be our Roster.

Take Anderson out and replace him with a shooter and that's an excellent roster, Raps Militia. Every position goes three deep, and each player could be plugged in at any time dependent on need. (Outside holdovers from the Bargs trade /Gay and Derozan) that is a fairly deep and cheap roster. It looks on its face to be a sixth seed or better.

We'll see, but that is a nice collection of cheap vets and developing youngish talent. And who knows...if Rudy finally gets his sh*t together maybe we can trade him to the team that drafts Wiggins + Lowry in a "I'm not going to play for anyone else" Steve Francis trade?

if players are bought out or amnestied can any of that lost salary to the cap be used to sign FAs?...cus we need one more big off the bench, hansbrough all he does is hustle doesnt offer much else, acy is just poor mans hansbrough atm, gray shouldn't see consistent floor time if u wanna win games

We apparently have 2.5 to play with....this off-season that seems to get you a lot more than previous ones.

I wish we could do a S&T for Pekovic. Last I saw from Woj, the Wolves were looking at a 4 yr $50M extension. Not sure why they haven't closed the deal yet.

Are they still looking for a good swingman? We have two of them.

A lot of things would have to go right before then, but sure it's possible, if unlikely. Veterans who are used to contending teams typically don't want to be on a crap team, so we'd have to have made some major steps in progress.

1. Val would have to be an all-star.
2. We would have needed to trade away Lowry and Gay to tank 2014 and draft a major piece. We most likely need a top 5 pick here.
3. The team would have to have a lot of solid role players that fit well together and would fit Durant. It would have to be like Howard walking into what looks like a perfect situation for him inj Houston.
4. We would need the cap space to sign a max contract. If we had already traded Gay and Lowry, only Demar would be left with a major contract. If we unloaded him, we'd definitely have the money for him.

Like I said, it's possible, but a lot has to have gone right before he signs.

There's a few unrestricted free agents that would be great pickups and round out the roster.
Ronnie Brewer could round out our G/F rotation, and I've been a fan of his for a while. I'm surprised nobody has picked him up yet.

DeJuan Blair would be a good backup C. Chris Wilcox would be a fine choice too.

We probably won't be able to get those players for the vet minimum, but if we can, we should.

I would love LMA on this team. I was trying to find a deal that works. I would love this, I know Portland fans will not like it but I feel Derozan has high value around the league. Much like how Bargnani was perceived to be unmoveable I think Demar has high value being only 23.

Derozan + Amir + Acy + TOR 2014 1st RD Pick + NYK 2016 1st RD Pick

For

Alridge + Matthews

Lillard/Derozan/Batum is a solid wing rotation to build on.

Lowry / Augustin / Buycks
Matthews / Ross
Gay / Fields
Alridge / Novak
Val / Hansbrough / Gray

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

I'd roll with the current team if we can add Aldridge and Matthews to it. That would be great. But, if we don't add to this squad anymore than we have (Hansbrough, Novak, Augustin)...it's very blah, and mundane.

I do that minus DD and Matthews. DD is better and younger. The only thing Matthews has on him is a 3pt shot.
