Kevin Willis wrote:Perry Jones reminds me of Kirilenko. Long, quick - with defensive capabilities. Not a polished scorer but can get you some points. Kirilenko for his career is averaging 12 ppg / 6 reb / 2 blocks and 1.5 steals.

Or maybe Randolph like nbadraft.net states. More for his attitude than anything. Randolph was suppose to be the next Bosh but his mental is just not there. Because of his lackadaisical play I would rather take Leonard because we know he would like a beast and hit his ceiling, which is lower than Perry's. However Perry has never come close to reaching his ceiling and nothing to show he never will and that alone can make him a worse pick.

Don't get sucked in the with the make-up because you'll be in for a shock when it gets washed off.

That's my main concern with Perry, can he defend SFs like AK used to/can? He definitely has the height/athleticism but that's really all we know.

On offense we know he has a good handle (for his height) and we know he has a decent stroke. What we don't know is if he can develop the range to be a true SF.

This is one guy where workouts will go a long way in determining who/what he is.

I hope all of these SFs battle each other in workouts and don't punk out solo style. Should be some epic battles between:

Barnes
D Will
P Jones
T Jones

I'd love to see some footage of these guys going up against each other.

I really feel like we need players with high basketball IQs. There are many people skilled enough to be real good NBA players, but don't succeed because they don't have the brain for it. Irving, Barnes, Knight, D. Williams all appear to have it. P. Jones, T. Jones don't and I'd prefer to avoid their type.

Reignman I agree with that - get the SFs in for a workout and see which one best fits the skillsets we need.

I would love to see what Perry can REALLY do when motivated. The other three don't have motivation problems. With his physical attributes he should dominate all but D Will who would just overpower him. But I would love to see it.

Barnes? Sure. But after Irving and Barnes, the only pure-position players in the top-half of the lotto IMO, I'd take Perry to trade. Somebody will always think they can get something out of Perry Jones.

Exactly. This draft is full of two-way players. Dwill is a 4 not a 3. I think I've see enough. But its just my opinion. I'm still up in the air about PJ III.

I agree. Would anyone take on Rips contract to get the #7th pick? I would. I'd then let sonny walk.

Potentially draft BPA/Kanter/Val

So BPA and a big. I think that would look real good going into training camp.

I don't see anyone who's already a two-way player in this draft other than Kyrie Irving. Everyone has the chance to be, but right now I only see Kyrie and maybe Knight who isn't the most polished player offensively.

Love it. Now the question is: will BC do it?

The term 2-way player usually refers to those who are capable on offense and defense.

Is Barnes not a two-way player? His defense and awareness seemed pretty solid in the tournament games.

Yeah, Barnes is one of the better "two way" prospects in the lottery.

Texas fans won't like this, but the buzz here in Chicago is overwhelmingly that Tristan Thompson will leave for NBA, not stay.

Isn't that what the report was the other day? That he would sign with an Agent?

He's still pretty raw on offense. If he counts, Terrence Jones should count too IMO

Not a bad comparison. But, I think it's somewhere between Sharif and Beasley. You're right about the being very productive number 2 or 3 option though.

It sucks that he couldn't make one more 3 against UCONN and advance to the Final Four, but I think he's making the right decision. He's undoubtedly a top 3-5 pick at this point. He's been my #2 guy after Kyrie, but I don't think I want him now tbh. I think he's got very good chance of becoming very good, but not superstar good (only see the potential in Irving and Perry Jones). We need a superstar and his immediate contribution will make it harder for us to tank next year too.

very good news. That means we're pretty much guaranteed to have Williams/P.Jones/Kanter/Valanciunas/Walker/Knight in this draft. As long as Kyrie/Barnes enter, things are looking pretty good, especially if we can maintain this #4 spot (or perhaps even move into #3).

Here's an article that talks about Kanter's impact in Kentucky this season (especially with regards to Harrellson):

And another article about Knight, game-winning shots, and his work ethic:

Even DWill is making a wise choice. Sullinger is risking his chances here coz he'd definitely be a top 5 pick this year and next year he could end up dropping down to 8th or 9th.
