Kanter is 6'9 in socks, so is Ed Davis. Neither has especially long reach. It's an undersized 4/5 combo. KG/Perkins and Ibaka/Perkins are on the other end of the spectrum.

Then the comparison between Harrelson & Kanter in 2011:

Kanter & Cousins look very similar relation to Harrelson (Kanter actually looks bigger).

You can't judge pictures like that because...

A) players stand on their balls of the feet to look taller.

and

B) The camera doesn't appear parallel to the ground

Of course we can judge picture like this. I'm not looking to get an exact value (down to 0.25").

It does give us a comparison. Every picture I have seen Harrelson in (when standing next to Kanter), Harrelson looks shorter. I think it's pretty safe to say Kanter is about the same height as Cousins, if not slightly taller.

The camera angle has nothing to do with it. They are all at the same angle.

Kanter does look roughly the same height as cousins who would be half the player without those freakish arms. He's roughly the same height as Perkins too. He'sjust not nearly as long. He's going to be a very good player. Defensive 5 man? Perhaps not. But maybe we're in no position to be picky.

Exactly. Clearly Harrelson is shorter than both Cousins and Kanter. This is very encouraging news because this means Kanter has the height to play the C position.

I'm starting to see why Kanter dominated Nazr Mohammed. Kanter looks to have a nice muscular frame to take a pounding in the paint. Unlike Cousins I don't think theres a conditioning issue there.

That's the way I see it. Our situation is pretty much as bad as it can get at the C spot.

If we can get a 6'11" (in shoes), 270+lb player that is very skilled & has good Basketball IQ, I think it'll really help (regardless of his wingspan). We'll be lucky.........especially in this shite draft.

bboyskinnylegs wrote:DeMarcus is 6'10.75" in shoes (of course, that's with a 292lb frame, 9'5" standing reach, and 7'5.75" wingspan), so it's certainly possible that Kanter is as tall as him now.

This makes sense. Kanter supposedly measured at 6'11" in shoes at the Amare Skills Academy.

Then when you look at the pictures & each players height relation to Harrelson, 6'11" in shoes sounds about right.

This is how I see it, too. Unless he's a scammer and isn't playing for a reason (bad knees, lazy?), I think he's probably going to be a good, solid pro.

What I like about all three of these big man prospects is that they seem to be physical, intense competitors. Kanter and Val seem like they could develop into two-way players, which is important the further down the line you go. I guess the hope with Biyombo is that he'd become so physically dominant that he couldn't be denied, like D12, but that's hoping for a lot.

I trust BC's draft choices. I wouldn't mind Irving, DWilliams, Kanter or Val to be honest.

I agree. Although I'm still shaky with Val because I havn't seen him play/contract issue. But he has the physical attributes to be good.

Rytas beat Perlas Vilnius in the quarter final of the Lithuanian League yesterday

Valanciunas had 12 pts (4-4 FG, 2-4 FT), seven boards (two offensive) and three blocks in 27 minutes.

Joe Dumars of Detroit was scouting him in person. I wonder if Wayne Embry made it there in time.

Those are solid numbers. But I have a question. Did he foul out? Just wondering if he was able to stay on the floor. Very efficient numbers. Nice to see he was able to get 3blocks.

He had four fouls. It's a 40 minute game with a five foul limit like the NCAA. Rytas also has some veteran bigs so they don't have to risk him fouling out.

Nice. Thx Dagger. Quick question, Who would you draft out of Kanter/Jonas? You've seen quite a bit of Jonas, and read about Kanter.

Did anybody watch a lot of Washington games this season? I didn't, but Justin Holiday, Jrue's older brother, could be interesting as a defensive wing prospect.

Pac-10 Defensive player of the year(edit-Netscouts basketball), Pac-10 all-D team last two seasons- a defensive specialist. At Portsmouth he measured 6'5.5 w/o shoes, 7'0 wingspan, 8'8.25 reach, his teammates call him "The Fireman". Hits the corner 3, passes well, athletic. Ranked in the middle of the 2nd round.

Anybody have any eye-test results? Is he worth the price of a 2nd-rounder, which could be very cheap?

Here's a mix from BEFORE his senior season, which was supposedly his best.

What about BC? Isn't he still under contract?

Not that this means much at this point, but I just noticed that Chad Ford's mock now has the Raptors taking Williams (over Irving) with the first pick.

Yeah I used the draft engine 20 times, 6 out of 20 try were 1st pick used on DWill...wtf? Does Chad Ford not understand the importance of irving to the raps?

I saw a lot of Jonas too and I can say I prefer him. He has upside on both ends is a 7 footer ( I don't know why noone talks about it this is huge plus) has very long hands, good basketball iq, very hard working guy with good character. I looked at Dwight Howard 18 years old an he was raw as Jonas not to say he will be next Howard ( though he is Jonas favorite player) but it does show how raw guy turns out in nba.

I have a hard time believing DH was that scrawny at 18 yo.
