And you know when Fields come back he will be force fed minutes no matter how bad he plays.
The season is already lost. Just fire the man and move on. Let's begin the resurrection of this franchise by exercising the Colangelo demon.
Yeah that really is the sad thing. The season is already lost. After less than 20 games.
It was fairly predictable, though justifiably we had to have some hope going into the season, despite Clownangelo's historically bad off-season. I said that our hopes for success would depend on how fast Jonas could develop and contribute, though that would obviously be hard for a young rookie center. I felt he'd make the difference between a team with 35 wins and a team with maybe 42 wins. Obviously rose-colored glasses.
I think this off-season ranks as one of the worst in Raptors history, and clearly one of the most disappointing.
I was calling for a GM change long before the draft, with the idea that Clownangelo's reign of error had run its course and it was time for change. I remember that when I put up a thread re. Who should our next GM be? I got absolutely lambasted and told to shut up and get off the board and not post any more. Obviously Lyin' Bryan's fanboys were still hot on the man. My idea re. the firing at season's end was to have a new guy come in and put his stamp on the team and use all the resources we had to mold and improve the team. I also jokingly suggested that the gods might realign the cosmos once again, like in 2006, when we got the 1st overall pick after making a GM change.
The team is an embarrassment on the floor. The organization is an embarrassment around the league, as it continues with the man who has run the team into the ground and yet still gets contract extensions and $5M salaries and owner support and media coddling.
