I also think Gradey has more juice as a defender than given since he's sneakily athletic. What do you think of Jett? I think he has the most potential as a shot creator due to handle and passing.

You like Gradey as a defender more than Whitmore?

Gradey is nice and a perfect complement to a star primary creator, but IMO you've got to take a bet on upside in the top 10. Cam might take a little more time to round out his game, but he's tough as nails and has the chance/tools to be real special. Maybe Gradey has some onball upside that he hasn't been able to show yet (ala Devin Booker), but I haven't seen any indications of that.

I'd also take Jett before Gradey. He may not be as athletic, but Jett's handle/playmaking is crafty enough, and his shot is lethal enough that I buy the upside.

Oh no. I meant I think Gradey has defensive potential since he's athletic. Not that he's a better defender than Whitmore.Sorry for the confusion. What I mean is most people assume he's going to be a pylon on defense. He's not great lets be honest, but I think he has some athletic traits that should make him passable.

TBH I'm just on the Jett bandwagon and think there's something there with him. A ceiling i'm not sure most see basically.

Scoot is one of the best guard prospects in a decade and some change.

100%. Hell they'd probably trade Cade before that pick. Which is to say they won't trade it.

I’m not generally a fan of players who are reliant on isos and that have very low assist numbers. How is his off ball movement? Does he read defenses well? Can he create in the pick and roll?

Him being able to play bully ball in college doesn’t impress me.

Gradey will be a good off ball scorer and maybe a neutral defender in NBA. That's a good fit on most teams.

I like his format of running game play back to back, it allows easy comparison.

I would take Nick Smith over Keyonte every day. Smith is quicker with a tighter dribble and his shot looks good.

First time paying attention to Dariq. Actually their games are similar. Dariq is more explosive and Barnes had more overall talent but it's more than just looks. That type of player might do well here.

Checking boxscores of Xavier vs UConn, Colby Jones and Hawkins, I noticed Souley Boum of Xavier.

5 year senior that transferred after his freshman year and for his 5th season. Maybe a good undrafted PG candidate? Would like to give him a 2-way to prove himself with the 905 and battle Dowtin for the 3rd PG spot next season.

Yeah I don't watch near enough Baylor to have a proper take, just saying those guards were dominant when they won the title along with a bunch of solid players (Vital was a great defender), the only other 2 of whom should be even NBA bench guys are Flagler and Mayer and they were freshmen playing 15 minutes off the bench. So that narrative might lead Flagler to drop a bit.

Deanondraft had both those guys as late 1sts / early 2nds and close to the biggest mispriced players among the consensus top picks. It is kind of easy to see why they were unsuccessful.
I have no idea about anyone in this draft as I haven't looked into it at all yet, so I'm not saying current Baylor guys will buck the trend.

Mitchell was clearly overrated and dominating younger guards and the people who liked him talked themselves into his shooting being better than it is, but I'm surprised Butler isn't a boring backup guard, he had some offensive creativity and seemingly could even hit a 3 off the dribble while being acceptable on defence.
Where's the D?

Continues to look better each game.
Showed off everything tonight. The jump shot, the outside shot, floater, impressive steal, slam dunk, etc.

Kid can do it all.
He'll solidify himself as a top 7 pick by draft night IMO.
Especially with HOU likely to make a deep run in the tourney.

Yep. Only guys I got for sure going ahead of him are Wemby, Scoot, Miller, Amen, Whitmore and probably Smith.

In that same game was Taylor Hendricks. He just keeps getting it done versus everyone.

Keegan Murray is a 22 year old rookie that's turning 23 in August. Watching him last night, he seemed to play fairly passable defense on Pascal for a rookie. He's the same size and weight as Jett Howard. Jett is having a better rookie season than freshman season than Keegan did at Iowa. Could imagine Jett putting up 20+ppg for his would-be sophomore season.

Tonight Purdue plays Michigan, so likely only watch Edey vs Dickinson, but be nice if Jett came back and played the #1 Boilermakers.

Not a bad comp. But IMO he looks like Jerami Grant.

?

Mirrors my initial thoughts on this draft class. Shockingly boring after the top 2. Usually I can buy into the hype of a prospect in our projected range but it's slim pickings this year.

Tiers usually do end up forming before every draft...but looking at history, it's not really wrong to say that every year. Most drafts end up with one or two guys above everyone else and then it's fairly flat for the next 5-10 players, but they might end up getting picked anywhere in the top 15-20 or more.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Don't draft a big unless clear #1 or 2. Can get a Sabonis or Sengun outside the top 10.

Just spend money on scouting.

Outside of the top 2, is Brandon Miller the ideal selection due to fit, ceiling and need? Does any other prospect match?
