I saw a lot of Jonas too and I can say I prefer him. He has upside on both ends is a 7 footer ( I don't know why noone talks about it this is huge plus) has very long hands, good basketball iq, very hard working guy with good character. I looked at Dwight Howard 18 years old an he was raw as Jonas not to say he will be next Howard ( though he is Jonas favorite player) but it does show how raw guy turns out in nba.

I have a hard time believing DH was that scrawny at 18 yo.

Sweet! We have the next Dwight Howard! Jk......

He is still pretty skinny, but he is wirey muscular for a skinny guy.

I'd guess he has about the same upper body size as Bargnani in his rookie year (except more cut)

Image

It's tough trying to determine how well these guys are going to fill out. I always knew Bargnani would fill out well because he always had big legs (even when his upper body was skinny).

That's my concern with Jonas V. His legs are kinda skinny. It's usually a little bit of an indicator. You look at guys like Bosh & Keon Clark. You knew they couldn't fill out because they had that mesomorph build......skinny calves. The typical "hard gainer" build.

It would be interesting to see what his dad is like.

If Jonas does fill out, I have no doubt he'll be a good player in the NBA The good news is that he has gained some muscle in the last 2 years.

Seen Jonas played, he needs to gain more muscle for sure the guy has high motor and defensive ability. The best comparison is Dwight Howard 2.0, nvm, not a good comparison but best is Biedrins. I don't think he'll ever be a scorer in this league but he has double double potential

This may have already been posted, but here is video footage from him in a game he played last month:

It's best to watch in full screen on youtube.

I like his defensive & rebounding instincts. The good news is that he plays defensively like a C & already has those instincts (although he wil have to adjust to 3 in the key).

It seems like his biggest hurdle is the lack of weight/ strength for sure. Other than that, he look like what we have been looking for at C.

There were a couple of impressive rebounds where he just grabbed the ball above another player that was in position. Freaky long arms.

This guy is definitely worth a look, but is probably a 3 year project.

Definitely Bargnani 2.0, but with a better post up game. Face up, 3 point shooting offensive big.

Do not need.

He doesn't even play like Ill Mago but he looks like he has better weakside help D than Mago boy. His game sort of reminds me of Tony Kukoc, agree? Shoots 3s, mobile, decent quickness for a big and ok passer. And if he happens to play better than Bargnani that'll be really sad considering we used our 1st pick on him while some team uses 9th or 10th on Donut to get a Mago type of production.

They're probably just testing the waters. They're undrafted at this point.

His body dimensions are like Durant's. What bothers me isn't the upper body strength but the complete lack of foundation

But that’s not all, the Sun has learned his longtime teammate, Cory Joseph of Pickering and their AAU teammate Olu Ashaolu of Toronto and Louisiana Tech. will also declare, barring a last-minute change of heart, though they will do so without an agent, leaving the door open to an NCAA return.

They're going back, no doubt about it.

Meh....smart move to test the waters in one of the weakest drafts ever. Just don't hire that agent.

If they declare for the draft, can they go through the pre-draft workouts & still go back to school (as long as they don't hire an agent)?

Or do they have to pull out of the draft before the deadline?

atleast he looks more aggresive in nature and doesn't settle like bargnani. I project him to be a better player then Bargnani

The players have to pay for everything but they can attend workouts and then go back to school.

You used to be allowed to go undrafted and then still go back to school as long as you paid for everything yourself. I have to look into if that is still allowed.

Better than Bargnani? Thats sounds like top 1 pick - do it BC!

Kemba Walker vs Brandon Knight:

Kemba is shorter but has unbelievable quicks and can score. His attitude is will dictate his play at the next level.

Knight is taller, not as fast and but can score. But he also is younger and has a steady mindset who looks to improve his game and can change things on the defensive end.

For me I grab Brandon Knight, because of his younger age, length and mental make up.

What's interesting is that he's impressive in categories that usually imply strength. He finishes well with contact and he rebounds well in traffic. With him it just seems like reps and physical maturity. He already knows how to play like a big man, he already knows how to compete.

That being said, I think the chances of us drafting him are zilch. If it's BC picking, he'll want someone that can play next year for certain. If it's MLSE picking, no way are they going to take a guy with that many letters in his last name with a top 5 pick.

Yeah, the issue with him potentially not coming over right away might make some GM's shy away from him with a very high pick, especially if he doesn't project to be an upgrade over the other two bigs. But of course with the lack of talent in this draft and likely lockout, maybe it won't be such a big deal.
