When you look at it only Scottie has made a noticeable improvement. Some of these players aren't getting the same leeway that he is outside of Cunningham, Green, and Wagner. Still early and things can change as the season goes along. But it's interesting since this was a pretty good draft especially at the top from a talent perspective.

I still never understood why anyone preferred Mobley to Scottie.

And I'm still sure Masai never did.

Giddey is not doing nearly as well as I expected, most of the other guys I chalk a lot of it up to lack of minutes/bad situation. Mitchell is playing behind Fox who is a million times better right now, Ziaire while getting minutes, is playing on a team missing like 3 starters, Kuminga is behind Green on a team trying to go for one more chip, Suggs....Orlando has like 367 guards lol.

All in all, I still think this goes down as a really good draft class. Even if you come out of it with Scottie/Franz/Giddey/Cade/Mobley, thats like 5 allstar+ level players, there's not a lot of drafts that good.

Cade's a good player. Would look nice as Barnes' sidekick, but he plays the game very slow like Andre Miller. I don't think he has superstar potential as his size and athleticism isn't there, but he's going to be a smart player.

I just don’t know if I see Wagner as a perennial all star. Maybe a once or twice guy.

I really like him as a player but I don’t see it.

Last night it took him 27 shots to score 30 points and that's the second time he's posted those exact same numbers already this season. The next highest FG attempts were 14 and 11, respectively. So the message is clear to his teammates, just stand around and watch Cade chuck. He is so damn inefficient.

Agreed, I should've been a bit more clear with my "all star+" comment. I meant that as some will be all stars, and other will be more. I see Scottie/Giddey/Mobley managing some all nba accolades, Cade/Franz likely like 2-3 time all stars. I might be wrong about Cade, but man, he is inefficient as all hell.

It's really only Cade who is in the conversation for best of his draft class with Scottie.

Franz kind of reminds me of a more mobile Vucevic.

Mobley reminds me of a Marcus Camby - I'm not sure if he'll become an elite offensive player but he's obviously very solid defensively.

Green is still way too inefficient, is not a good facilitator and a bad defender. Maybe he's destined for a 6th man type role...I'm not sure.

So yes, Cade and Barnes seem like the best of the crop.

Based on 4 games this season?

Hot take.

At the conclusion of last season all of Franz, Giddy and Mobley had a legitimate case.

Mobley made all defensive team as a sophomore. That's impressive.

It's also game 5 guys.

It will be interesting on how these numbers progress throughout the season. I'll keep tabs on it.

Scottie needs to be averaging at least 6 FTAs per game, that goes along with running more PnRs to attack the rim.

His FT rate is only 17% right now, while it hovered around 23% and 24% his first two years. True stars get >30%, the best >40%.

He has to make sure to exaggerate contact by showing a change in momentum (move slower when hit, longer strides, knock head back, yell) given the fact he's so strong. Kawhi did a great despite suffering from immense strength.

I love Scottie. Always have since drafted. Only player I’ve ever bought a hoodie with name on back and I’ve been following Raptors since ‘95.

With that said, he’s gotta stop with the whine face and palms up/arms spread after every contact or call.

Just play man. he's too good to focus on anything else.

Cade's metrics are really bad

I'd say Scottie then big gap followed by Mobley then big gap with the rest

Even if Mobley isn't the hyped up second coming on Kevin Garnett all the blog boys said he'd be, he still has value as a better no bag having, lob merchant Clint Capela type.
