That deal makes a lot of sense for both teams.

I don't know if Sac does it with Salmons & Moute in the fold. I presume they look something like

Thomas / Vasquez / Jimmer
Mclemore / Thorton
Moute / Salmons
Petterson / Landry / Outlaw
Cousins / Thompson / Hayes

Unless Salmons or another wing leaves in the deal.

I'd like to pick up Ayon, who was waived today.

Ayon is fairly bad, but he's a clear upgrade on Aaron Gray. I'd gladly take him for the minimum.

What do you guys think of a Lowry + Gay for S&T'd Jennings (2 yrs 12 mil., with a team option for a 3rd), Ilysasova, Mbah a Moute, a future draft pick trade?

I'm assuming Masai doesn't want to tank, and that he'd rather re-tool the way he did in Denver. If so, does my trade help improve this team? I'd say we'd have more upside as a team depending entirely on Brandon Jennings, who is a bit of a wild card. Ilyasova is an excellent defensive rebounder, with stretch 4 capabilities, while Mbah a Moute can defend multiple positions at a high level.

DeRozan/Ross/Fields
Mbah a Moute/Fields/Novak

Both Jennings and the Bucks have entertained sign-and-trade scenarios, but sources close to the situation say Milwaukee is not going to sandbag their season to move Jennings for basically nothing and that any deal made would have to return a legitimate starting point guard.

Both sides are talking, and a deal to keep Jennings in Milwaukee could be had in the $8 million per season range. The question is will Jennings take a deal at that price? He wants significantly more considering his peers received deals in the $11 to $12 million per season range last year by way of extensions.

With that said...

To TOR: Brandon Jennings (10 million)
To MIL: Kyle Lowry + Landry Fields + 2014 OKC 2nd RD Pick (via NYK)

Toronto takes the opportunity to grab Jennings at 10 million. I think Lowry will want somewhere close to that (if not more) and we dump Fields in the process. Assuming Lowry would want 8-12 million this deal could save us anywhere between 4.25-8.25 which is huge. Jennings is younger (23 as opposed to 27) and has room to grow

Milwaukee and Jennings aren't on good terms. They take Lowry who's a starting PG like they want and helps them try to reach their 8th seed objectives. I actually think Fields would be good there and might play more than Antetokounmpo right away as he may be a bit raw and the Bucks like to win now.

Brandon Jennings / Dj Augustin / Dwight Buycks
Demar Derozan / Terrence Ross
Rudy Gay / Steve Novak / Chris Wright (signed)
Amir Johnson / Tyler Hansbrough / Quincy Acy
Jonas Valanciunas / Aaron Gray / C (signed)

Is a pretty solid group. The bucks would be

Kyle Lowry / Luke Ridnour / Nate Wolters
Oj Mayo / Gary Neal
Carlos Delfino / Landry Fields / Giannis Antetokounmpo
Ersan Ilyasova / John Henson / Epke Udoh
Larry Sanders / Zaza Pachulia / Miroslav Raduljica

I always wanted to punt DeMar to waukee.... Not bring Jennings here.

Even if we are tanking, we will be stuck with BJ for years to come... I'd rather keep Lowry.

Lowry is a much better overall player than Jennings, its crazy people would want to throw even more stuff on top at the Bucks for a chucker like him.

Would love to see...

* DeMar DeRozan >>> OKC >>> Jeremy Lamb / Kendrick Perkins / 2014 OKC #1 Pick

* Rudy Gay >>> SAC >>> Travis Outlaw / John Salmons / Chuck Hayes / 2015 SAC #1 Pick

* Kyle Lowry >>> Highest Bidder

With Kobe on the Lakers i highly doubt Lakers attempt to tank.
This offer is beneficial for both teams:

Rudy Gay + Kyle Lowry + Landry Fields/Amir Johnson

for

Steve Nash + Pau Gasol + 1st Round Pick 2014

Lakers: Lowry/Kobe/Gay/Jamison (or Amir)/Hill
Raptors: Nash/Ross/Derozan/Pau/Val

Fair deal for both teams. Get er done Masai!
In Masai We Trust :meditate:

We'd still be too good for this season, so what's the point in getting old ? I also wouldn't include Amir, and that pick wouldn't be that good, and neither would ours.

I'd love a deal like that if it meant getting rid of Fields. I think Jennings has a lot of room to improve, and with scorers like Gay/DeRozan and now Valanciunas, it would emphasize his passing abilities far more than it was with the Bucks - where he was relied on to score and chuck. But to say that he's absolute crap is wrong in my opinion... he actually led the Bucks to a few playoff appearances with nothing really around him - he has potential, he's still only 23... he fits Masai's desire for youth.

I think a Jennings deal is only considered if Masai believes DeRozan (and Rudy too) is a long term part of this team. With his wait and see approach/flexibility though, I doubt he deals for Jennings, a long term player.

I like this. Demar haters will hate it because it kind of makes us a Compton team with Demar the lead guy. I like the idea of locking up a young point guard who has playoff experience. I wouldn't sign Chris Wright rather I'd trade TRoss for Victor Claver and look for a cheap combo 2 guard.

I wonder why the Bucks do it, though. So, they take on Fields for the privilege of getting a point guard who is slightly better than he is and a second rounder?

I get Jennings is holding out, but even if they accepted that deal they'd be in the same situation next year with Lowry that they are trying to avoid...unless they think Lowry is an elite point guard they want to lock up long term.
