Norm, McCaw, Stanley and cash!
Maybe draft Nwora if he's a legit 6'7 without shoes, 225 lbs with a 6'10.5 wingspan. He can be a stretch 4.
Hughes at #29? PG at #59?
PG Lowry - FVV - #59
SG FVV - TD - Thomas
SF OG - Hughes/Watson
PF Siakam - Nwora/Boucher
C Ibaka - Dieng - Dewan
I like Hughes but his stock his taking a hit because of Syracuse's rep. I would trade 29 down for 2 seconds if it's possible and take Hughes and Reed instead of wasting a whole first on him. I don't think Nwora is anything special. I want athletic, agreesive, wiry strong players to match up against tough physical offenses. I don't think this is the draft where you want to trade up.
The best thing to do would be to tank hard. We played through our window, we should take advantage of the shorten season and re-sign FVV/Ibaka/Powell and dump them mid season for 2022 picks since it's a loaded draft. Thug out next season with a crappy backcourt and nonexistent center position.
A lotto pick next off-season could be a key asset in trading for a secondary superstar next to Siakam. Then also luring in Giannis to form a big three. That is what it will to build a team to beat the Lakers 4x in a series, the LAC 4x in a series.
Imagine getting Doncic level prospect and Giannis in the same off-season along with retaining Siakam and keeping Lowry on a last year pre-retirement championship.
Giannis/Zeke(29)
Siakam/
OG/Cunningham(2021: 1)
Oladipo/Davis
Lowry/Mane(59)
That would completely wreck any ECF team. I am confident with Masai's drafting/scouting ability he could find a star with a high pick even if we don't land the first. We would even have a higher chance of getting a good pick with a tank now that the odds are evened out. We could BS a Siakam/Lowry rest how the Nets did in one season we could complete reload and add a top 5 pick, max contract, and Giannis.
