Not a great measurement for Fears

Fears is a Masai-type FRP. Wingspan to height ratio was the only question mark remaining and it comes in at around +3.

I like Fears a lot, but he's the exact opposite of a Masai-type pick IMO.

Small freshmen guards are pretty much the exact opposite of what Masai's gone for. Every guard we've ever drafted or signed as a priority UDFA in the Masai era has been a 4-year player in college [Delon, FVV, Flynn, Nowell, Shead]

Buying up all the Fleming stocks now. Monster

He's gonna end up rising into the lottery. Especially if he nails his 3s in workouts

Yah, I can hear the sound of Sorber skyrocketing up boards in the distance.

Pretty much erases the question of whether or not he can play at the 5 and probably has him firmly as a Top 20 guy on a lot of boards now

Again I thought Fleming was 22. 20 years old with these measurements and he shoots?

I wouldn't be shocked if Masai goes with him.

He would be the prototypical Masai pick, just not sure about the value at early lotto.

Those Maluach measurements just solidify things. You get those tools into this developmental structure and you get a defensive monster and rim deterrence anchor. I'm all the way in on that as our potential future backstopper

I think people need to remember it is only the last couple years that the NBA went to measurements barefoot and actually made top prospects show up and be measured. You can go back and see OG was only 6" 6.25 barefoot but no one ever says he is 6"6". Devin Booker the quintessential 6'6" 2 guard measured in at 6'4.5". Shorter then someone like Tre Johnson at 6' 4.75".

Almost exact same measurements as Alparen Sengun

And he is overrated as hell. Just surrounded by great defensive talent. Jokic is bigger and makes it work but it's not a winning archetype otherwise. Undersized offensive first Cs are not a strong meta in the playoffs

I dont get how more people dont see it this way. Your Center is your most important defensive player. At minimum, that player must be good at defense to be an elite defensive team, especially in the playoffs.

These Sengun, Sabonis type players don’t impact winning at the highest level. Jokic is the rare exception because his offensive skill is probably top 5 of all time lol. His impact far outweighs his defensive limitations.

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Yep just need to mentally add 1.5-2 inches to height and standing reach and it makes more sense.
