We only lost by three tonight. Don't you see how close we are to being a contender

Tonight's game was a huge moral victory. All we have to do now is build upon it and play the whole 48 minutes.

Hopefully we go on a losing streak the next 4 games and the earliest this may happen is December 11 after the game in Portland if we lose every game on the trip. If we win some (hopefully not) then lose at home to NETS/MAVS/ROCKETS he could still be around. The latest his firing should happen is December 17 after the Rockets game if we continue to lose.

The earliest BC will be gone is December 11 and latest December 17, these are the most likely senarios

Raps have to split these next 4 road games just to be at 6-16. That has to be near the line for firing him. Anything past 10 games under .500 should finish him. If we only win 1 then its 5-17 and twelve games under.

Then we'll get the excuse about the first game back from a West road trip and of course the last game before Christmas and the first game back. No end to excuses.

I agree with that..I think Fields was worth ~4 mill/year, but him being awful offensively to start the season didn't help with the fans. I guess we'll see how much the surgery will help him.

Spending 4-6 million a year on Fields is just like the contracts given to Amir and Kleiza. They are all okay players, but they're bench guys on decent teams. We are not a decent team. Guys like them are luxuries to us. They'd be valuable on teams like the Spurs or Miami. They are just mediocre and better suited to being 7th, 8th or 9th men.
They are NOT the types of guys a "rebuilding" team needs and they disprove Colangelo's and his supporters' argument that the team may be terrible, but it's because "post Bosh we went into rebuilding mode". A blatant lie.

One of those three on his own is probably okay. But having 3 is just terrible strategy by our terrible GM. Altogether they make 15.5 million this year and 17.5 million next year. That is Max.Contract money. That is just a terrible waste of resources on a team like ours. We do not need 3 mediocre or below average players. We need an impact player or even an All-star.

Would you rather have Fields and Amir and Kleiza, or Nic Batum? Without those 3 we could've offered Batum that 15.5 million, which might've been too much for Portland to match. Or else just hold onto the cap space until a real impact player hits the market. Or else use the cap space in a trade to get an impact player and give a team looking to cut payroll a big TPE.

Terrible use of resources for a team that doesn't have many and is certainly in no position to waste them.

Are you trolling this thread? marginally overpaid? he signed for more than double what OJ Mayo signed for!!! He was in a year and a half long slump when he signed that contract and has looked like a men's league player going on two years now.

Only when he does anything involving directing the ball towards the basket. Due nerve damage in his elbow, which actually makes sense. It is being fixed.

dream on...BC ain`t getting fired, he`s contract will not be extended in the summer but he`s not getting fired now, so wishing your team to lose without having a certainty that a firing could happen after this games is a huge mistake for fans like u...

People want BC gone. It doesn't matter if he's fired (although sooner the better) or doesn't get a contract extension as long as he's no longer GM. If we start winning ownership might give him an extension. So yeah, we would like this team to keep losing while BC is the GM.

Bring in Chuck

Seriously, Barkley will make the team money, he is a great personality and the media will love him. He thinks toronto is great. Has a great relationship with a few GMs already. Is a respected guy. He definately knows what makes a real team having been around it and on them for years.

What is the worst that could happen......can't see it being worse than BC's tenure.

Are people expecting a much-improved Fields when he gets back?

If his elbow is fixed, yes. Do you expect him to keep throwing layups into the 5th row like a 2 year old when he's healthy?

from NY, if you really believe he's close to his value.... you must've only seen him in the first half of his rookie year. the guy hasn't been good in a long time.

he was terrible last season, only 2nd worst ton Tony douglas in the nightmare season the knicks had. his play this year, it's arguable if he's an nba caliber player. He's posting a 1.37 PER

to be fair, OJ signed that dallas deal so he could get a bigger contract (which will likely happen now given his development this season).

I do believe he had "better offers." but yea Fields is overpaid as hell.

Improved to the extent that he can play a decent amount of minutes but be deserving of them.

His elbow is not broken, he's just a scrub.

I hate it when Paul Jones says never unerestimate how close you are to being good and/or how close you are to being bad, or something like that. Losing a close game does not mean you're close to being good. Bad teams lose the close games, because that's what they do. This is the NBA, and every player can play, so even the worst team in the NBA isn't going to be blowned out game in game out. Bad teams will lose by anywhere from 1pt to 50pts. Bad teams lose games, plain and simple. Moral victories = close to being good?.........................Stop it! GTFO!
