To Toronto: Posey, Thabeet
To Memphis: Jose, Mia 1st, 3 mil cash (Toronto), Noh 1st (top 10 protected)
To New Orleans: Conley (expiring, also makes it easier to trade collison or Paul)
Why for Toronto: Dumps Jose for a prospect.
Why for Memphis: Get a facilitator and fellow countryman of Marc Gasol who will become a FA, gets 2 1sts and cash.
Why for New Orleans: They trade a bad contract for a expiring prospect.
i like my idea better. I like having Conley, hes at worst an expiring which we can use to access at the end of the year if hes worth moving forward with or not.
NO wouldn't offer a top 3 protected just for an expiring for posey when they are under the luxury tax.
For them to dump Poseys 6.8 (Posey has a trade kicker BTW) for an expiring contract i could see them offering a future 1st or some kind of incentive to Memphis. A option to pick swap for example (top 3 protected)

they arent offering a top 3 pick. Its a PICK SWAP with Memphis. So say Memphis was #9 and NOH was #5, they would swap picks. Also i said thats unlikely and even then i would expect the pick swap to be like top 5 protected or something like that, i could see them offering MEM a 2nd rounder or send them the MIA 1st and they offer MEM a future 1st.

Memphis is not gonna swap picks, especially when they are giving up the former the 2nd overall pick and another expiring prospect for Jose, and the fact that they have key FA's for them coming up, thats why if NO gets conley than I think they would be willing to give them a top 3 protected pick but realistically top 5 protected. Which would appease memphis more.

Hornets trade: Chris Paul + Omeka Okafur to Lakers
Posey to Raptors
Raptors trade: Miami's first round pick + Banks + Evans + Marco to Hornets
Lakers trade: Sasha Vujacic future first round pick to Hornets
Andrew Bynum + Steve Blake to Toronto
Paul/Fisher
Kobe/Brown
Artest/(Barnes?)/Walton
Gasol/Odom
Okafur/Mbenga
Now they've got Paul in their starting line-up and have Fisher + Odom come off the bench.
If the Hornets lose Chris Paul, there is no way they want heavy contracts. They want salary cap room and picks. They get 2 first round picks, 3 expiring contracts at about 15 million, a scorer off the bench Marco, and lose the bloated contracts of Posey and Okafur.
Jack/Blake
DD/Barbosa/Posey
Kleiza/Weems
Bargnani/Davis
Bynum/Johnson
Blake gets done only if we're able to dump Jose.

you dont get it. Memphis gets the choice to swap picks. So if NOH pick is worse than theirs, they dont do it, if NOH has a higher pick then them they do it. Refer back to the Houston/New York trade, Houston has the rights to swap with New York in 2011 (the pick is #1 overall protected), but if Houston misses the playoffs, ends up with a high pick and NYK ends up making the playoffs, they decline the option to swap picks. Get it more now? Im not even saying NOH would do that i said what incentive would they add to dump Poseys deal before the new CBA in 2011. I think they could potentially give up a decent amount. For Rasual Butlers 3 million expiring deal last year they gave the Clippers 3 million cash (pays for his salary) + a 2nd round pick. And thats for an expiring contract, what would they give to dump Poseys 6.8 next year before the new CBA is my point.

Calderon for TJ Ford?
Why Indiana? Calderon is a facilitating PG. Good shooter.
Why Toronto? If Toronto wants to play fast, who better than one of the fastest in TJ Ford? I know he has ego issues but it's his last year (so he's playing for his next contract). Also, he did have his best years in Toronto.
Thoughts?

Unlikely we bring Tj back but something like
To Toronto: Diaw + Augustin
To Charlotte: Ford + Evans + MIA 2011 1st Round Pick
To Indiana: Calderon
could work. Dont know if BC will deal with CHA again

I doubt Toronto would want to do business with Charlotte anytime soon.

Have you been listening to Doug?
But yes, far too quiet. BC is probably holding everything EXTREMELY close, given what has transpired over the last 10 days or so.
I only hope that can be a good thing.

Does anyone foresee a three way trade between the Knicks, Pacers and Hornets so New York can land Chris Paul?
Something like this maybe (although would need to be some tweaking to make it fit under the cap):
To New York: Chris Paul, Troy Murphy
To New Orleans: Anthony Randolph, Wilson Chandler, Trade Exception, Draft Picks
To Indiana: Raymond Felton, Peja Stojakovic

I think Toronto has one of the best packages for Paul & Co.
14.5 TPE+2.7 TPE+Tor 11 first+Mia 11 first+DeRozan/Weems+Evans+Banks for Paul+Ok+Posey

Re: Toronto Raptors 2010 Official Trade Ideas Thread
I think Toronto could help out Orlando and maybe get some pieces with the Bosh TPE
To get it out of the way, V. Carter for Paul works in the trade machine. But NOH wants to shed salary and get some youth/picks back. This is where Toronto could come in.
1. Bosh TPE to Orlando for Gortat and J. Nelson
Toronto gets a C and a PG (though he is not staying)
Orlando can use the TPE for Okafor
2. Tor trades J. Nelson to Memphis for Conley/Haddadi
or
Tor trades J Nelson to Indiana for P George/D Jones
3. Reggie Evans to NOH (expiring), B. Bass to Toronto, J. Posey to Orl.
Orlando also throws into the trade D. Orten, R Anderson, 2011 1st rounder, Toronto throws in Miami 1st rounder.
1. Tor gets a C, and either a young pg in Conley (and a young C) or a SF in George (not sure if Indy wants to give him up yet).
2. Orlando gets CP3, Okafor (who can play PF and allow Lewis to play SF) and Posey. Carter is replaced by Redick
3. NOH get Carter (exp), Evans (exp), Orten, Anderson, two draft picks. Basically they clear 30 million this year. Also might be able to flip Carter at the trade deadline to a playoff team for a pick/young player.

Evans and Jones
for
Przybilla
We do it to get a vet C that is a good defender and rebounder.
Portland does this as they have an excess of C (Camby, Oden, Przybilla) and could use a solid backup PF in Evans. They also can drop Jones to save some $ right away.

Here's an idea with the TPE/Chris Paul trade. Not sure of the numbers exactly:
NY trades:
Azibuke
Turiaf
Curry (to be waived)
Tor trades:
TPE
expiring - maybe Evans
This would give us an extra big who can play this season and solves the SF problem for this season. It gives NY a TPE that they can then trade to NO for instant cap relief. Obviously the trade would have to be two seperate trades as you can't combine the TPE with a player, but I'm pretty sure that TPE for Curry/Azibuke, Evans for Turiaf works.

I'd really like to grab Turiaf but Az doesn't really fit, he's great and all but he'd be like another DD and Weems. Not sure that is good value for the TPE.
If they included Douglas as well that might be interesting. then flip Az
Its a great idea though
Three way I came up with, decent value for Paul
NO gets: Chandler, Azuibuke, Randolph, 14.3 TPE, and Curry
NY gets: Paul, Okafor, Reggie
TO gets: Turiaf, Peja, and Douglas
I really like Turf and Douglas but that's pretty **** value for the TPE
or even more unrealistic 4 way (which does work in Trade machine)
NO gets: Thabeet, Chandler, Azubuike, Douglas, Evans and TPE
Mem gets: Jose and Beli
NY gets: Paul and Okafor
TO gets: Conley, Turiaf, Peja and Curry
so for Raps thats Jose, Beli, Evans and TPE for Conley, Turiaf, Peja and Curry
Raps could have the choice of Douglas, Conely or Collison
