Rubio and Beasley involved? I get the Beasley thing but Rubio? I thought Wolves worships him like he's the Spaniard God of this millennium. I don't buy the source. No way.

It sounds as though Granger would be the one getting traded for the pick.

Wow, what a dumb (potential) move by Indy.

Chad Ford doesn't think every GM has Kawhi as a top-10 pick. He's still hyping his guy though. Do you want updates or would you rather watch it later?

I welcome the updates, personally.

Eating a Book has started a combine discussion thread too so feel free to post in there as well.

you get the feeling that Minnesota's either gonna get really good soon, or they're just going to be a disaster. If they trade that pick it better be for at least Hibbert, definitely not Granger.

Wow, what a dumb (potential) move by Indy.

I think they want to go young with Williams instead of Granger (sure beats getting bounced in the first round). Collison/George/Williams/Hansborough/Hibbert is a decent young core to work with. Moving Granger, they'd have a ton of capspace to go after someone big in free agency as well. George would also get an increased opportunity. It would be terrible for Minny if they move #2 for Granger imo.

If this goes down, I wouldn't mind trying to move Bargs (or Jose, if for some reason they want him) in a deal where we get Beasley/Flynn back. We get young players to try out at PG/SF (both who we could move off the books if we don't decide to pick up their options).

(#5-Biyombo/Val/Kanter?)/FA C
Ed/Amir
Beasley/Johnson
DeMar/Barbosa
Bayless/Flynn/Jose(trade him)

Agreed, I think the move is worse for Minny. You don't give that much up for Danny Granger. He's a nice scorer but the word chucker is thrown around all too often with him. If you're Minny and you want a small forward you go with Williams and let the young core grow together.

according to Kahn's interviews, he feels there's a point where there's just too much youth.

Yea I heard that too but I would rather get some saavy vets at the minimum or MLE at the most expensive and go in with that. The youngins play the major minutes and the vets teach.

Darius Morris measuring out at 6'5.25" in shoes, 190lbs is very intriguing. I knew he was big, I didn't know he was *that* big--especially for a pure PG.

Darius Morris is honestly more intriguing to me than Brandon Knight... I know. But I'm telling you guys, Iman Shumpert is what we need. I'd rather take him if we're going after a point. He has the tools to be epic defensively and with Jose on board he can learn to run an offense. Oh, but not at 5. Either acquire a late-first rounder or early second rounder.

Darius Morris is an absolute baller. I for sure thought he was going to stay at Michigan this year.

I think this could be the perfect draft to buy late pick (or two), with most teams (especially the contenders that have these late picks, and are almost all well into the tax) shying away from adding the guaranteed salary for unproven young guys before the new CBA. Bertans, D.Morris, Selby, CoJo, Tyler, Nogueira. All young guys with intriguing physical tools and skillsets.

Absolutely agreed. Man...Selby somewhere late would be incredible. He has enormous upside this kid. Ridiculous athleticism.

my ears really perked up when I heard rubio might be involved in the indiana/minnesota deal.

I really don't know what to think of this, basically means they've

A: given up on him contractually

B: seen enough of him overseas to believe that he wasn't worth the 5th overall pick 2 years ago.

Just thinking out loud here, but Minny has some brutal contracts. Wonder if they'd do pick 2 for 5 swap if Raptors took 2 of them

I wonder which brutal contracts he's talking about? I don't see any contracts I would personally call brutal... however I would jump at the following trade:

#2 + Darko + Webster for #5 + Bargnani

Man, I'm just going to keep praying that Kanter slides to 5 or we somehow trade up.

BC would have to think about a Derrick Williams + Ridnour + Pekovic for Bargnani + No. 5 deal I would think.

WTF where did that come from?

I suggested Jose and 5 for Ridnour, Darko and 2nd

Figured Minny would want Jose as the vet PG for Rubio

Still think its bunk though. Minny will move the pick for a legit vet starter
