Honestly, if Lowry performs well this year, I would have no problem re-signing him to something like 3/$25M

Here's a list of 2014 PG free agents by type:

UFA- Tony Parker, Jameer Nelson, Patty Mills, Aaron Brooks, Ramon Sessions, Kirk Hinrich, Jerryd Bayless, Andre Miller, Rodney Stuckey, Toney Douglas, DJ Augustin, Steve Blake, Luke Ridnour, Ish Smith, Derek Fisher, Ronnie Price

RFA- (Qualifying Offer)- Avery Bradley, Eric Bledsoe, Greivis Vasquez, Isaiah Thomas, Tyshawn Taylor

Player Option- Darren Collison, Nate Robinson, Eric Maynor

I don't see Parker leaving SA, and I'm not really seeing a significant upgrade in the rest of the UFA's. I'd throw some money at Bradley and Bledsoe, depending on how they play this season, but I'd expect other teams to join the bidding on them as well.

Both Collison and Maynor could decline their PO's if they shine in backup minutes this season in order to secure longer deals, but they're not exactly great options to run your point full-time.

Looking at the rest of the free agent crop for 2014, notables include:

SG
(UFA)- Kobe, Thabo Sefolosha, Ray Allen, Jamal Crawford, Ben Gordon, Vince Carter, Keith Bogans, Jodie Meeks, Shannon Brown, Fransisco Garcia, Wes Johnson, Shannon Brown, Will Barton
(RFA)- Gordon Hayward, Evan Turner, Jordan Crawford

SF
(UFA)- Paul Pierce, Danny Granger, Shawn Marion, Luol Deng, Caron Butler, Marvin Williams, Michael Beasley, Trevor Ariza, Mike Miller, John Salmons, Shane Battier, James Jones, Richard Jefferson,
(RFA)- Paul George,

PF
(UFA)- Pau Gasol, Dirk Nowitzki, Elton Brand, Kris Humphries, Jason Smith, Charlie Villanueva, Rashard Lewis, Al-Farouq Aminu, Boris Diaw, DeJuan Blair, Matt Bonner, Kenyon Martin
(RFA)- Greg Monroe, Larry Sanders, Patrick Patterson, Ed Davis, Derrick Favors, Kevin Seraphim, Trevor Booker

C
(UFA)- Andrew Bogut, Marcin Gortat, Emeka Okafor, Spencer Hawes, Andris Biedrins, Nazr Mohammed, Jordan Hill, Ryan Hollins, Sam Dalembert, Jermaine O'Neal
(RFA)- DeMarcus Cousins, Epke Udoh, Gustavo Ayon

I wouldn't do that. I would indeed sign Julyan Stone to be a combo guard and move Lowry for picks and equivalent expiring salary all the while sliding towards the 2014 lotto. Then we likely see Rudy Gay opt out and we can either move him at the deadline or see if he wants a longer term Toronto deal in the 10 - 12 per range. If we lose one or both of Lowry-RG we know we can replace one of them from next year's draft crop. At least in so far as dismantling team BC is concerned.

Umm, because Sacramento tends to draft top 6? Because in deep drafts steals in the top 13 minimum can be had? Because Lowry is soon an unrestricted free agent? Because many of us Raptor fans are willing to gut our team for a chance at two top ten lottery picks? Etc? ...

what about this?

To TOR: Kenneth Faried + Evan Fournier
To DEN: Terrence Ross + TOR 14' (top 10 protected) 1st + NYK 16' 1st

Masai goes after 2 guys he had in Denver to round out the roster.

Denver signed Hickson, Mozgov & traded for Arthur so they get picks back for Faried and upgrade on Fournier.

Lowry / Augustin / Buycks
Derozan / Fournier / Fields
Gay / Novak / Daye
Faried / Hansbrough / Acy
Val / Amir / Gray

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Denver isn't touching this, don't see Denver accepting Ross and TOR pick for Faried OR Fournier for NYK 16' pick, adding it all together just makes it worse. Not even sure Ross should be considered and upgrade over Fournier, Fournier played significantly less mins but was more productive while on the court.

That's actually not a bad team and we'd have multiple draft picks and capspace coming up. Plus, we can build the future around Schroeder, Barnes and Val.

Youth and everyone cares about d, and athletic and shooting would take a while for them to merge but once they did and everyone hits potential just nasty. I really like Schroeder like a lot :)

How likely are these trade inspired by Beasley's troubles (I had to include players to make salaries work), though Kendall Narshall for DJ optional if his upsdie is lacking.

Beasley+Bulter+Brown+Green+Frye+Marshall + picks 2014 and future 1st for Gay+DD+QRich+Daye+Gray+DJ
or

Beasley+Bulter+Brown+Green+Gortat+Marshall + picks 2014 and future 1st? for Gay+DD+QRich+Daye+Gray+DJ

or

Beasley+Bulter+Brown+Marshall + pick 2014 and future for Gay+QRich+Daye+DJ

I think Schroeder is going to be terrific. Just a great, old-school point guard with a ton of potential.

A team like that can really compete on all levels and grow to be quite strong.

If DEN agreed to this, then absolutely! But I highly doubt it. Ross isn't valuable right now and they are giving up a lot for picks that aren't exactly tantalizing.

Amir is younger, on a better contract, and imo better than Splitter, so I'd pass on this.

Some blow up ideas

To TOR: MKG + Ben Gordon + DET 14' 1st
To CHA: Gay + Ross

CHA gets Ross and pairs him up with Walker long term.

To TOR: Jennings + Monroe + CV
To DET: Lowry + Gay

Lowry/Stuckey/Gay/Smith/Drummond would be a nice group.
