That's like ignoring foreplay during sex.

If foreplay consists of Fred and Siakam taking turns of being THE guy at the end of games, I'm OK with going straight to sex lol.

Kids vision and passing ability is off the charts. Unreal.

Scottie leads the team in rebounds, blocks, field goal percentage amongst the starters, per game, and is top five in scoring and steals.

Re: Official Scottie Barnes Thread
I was ecstatic when Raps jumped to the top four of the lottery. I was mildly disappointed when Raps only ended up in fourth. I was disappointed (but not surprised) when Mobley didn't drop to us. I was enraged when we passed on Suggs to draft a non-shooter.
Now I've circled back to ecstatic, especially after that Knicks game. Scottie's hands are huge ... and everywhere. As with Kawhi, they are weapons of mass destruction. It's odd that finishing at the rim isn't a strength (yet). He's only just begun to scratch the surface of his potential.

Re: Official Scottie Barnes Thread
There's always peaks and valleys in a rookie's development but I'm really hoping last night's game against the Knicks was a huge turning point for Scottie. Not necessarily on offence though he had a good game on that side of the ball too. It just wasn't something we've seen before. It's the defensive positioning and awareness that was different last night. He was getting praise from Fred (which doesn't happen without defense) and from the coaches. Plus alot of knowledgable basketball ppl are commenting on it too.
This isn't like a hot shooting night. This is IQ development and learning how to play properly which doesn't tend to ebb and flow as much as scoring. This could be huge. Might be the most important game of his career (so far) in revealing that part of his game. It came quicker for Mobley but Mobley is a one in a million in that respect.
The other thing....if the knick's game wasn't a mirage and it's true that something clicked for Scottie in his learning how to play defense....you can forget about tanking. Cause that type of thing will produce more wins. Alot more wins forecasted from that development than if he had a 30 point night on hot shooting.

Re: Official Scottie Barnes Thread
He's made a huge improvement in defense the last few games. To the point where it looks like two different players on that end. No more easy blow-bys, lining up to take a charge while the offensive player is 10 feet away from him, rotations on point, timely help and making the extra effort to run out on shooters. Great stuff.

Best part about scottie is he how keeps showcasing different things out there. In the beginning he came out the gate scoring better than anyone expected, then it was the passing, then the 3 pt shot, then the rebounds, and now the blocks/D. We're so lucky to have moved up in the lottery.

Re: Official Scottie Barnes Thread
Going to take a couple of years until he puts everything together but when that happens he is going to be a brutal force.
You see he does sometimes this, sometimes that. At times for a full game, at times for a half.
I have zero concerns about Barnes, I just hope he gets another elite talent by his side.

You were enraged ? Guess you thought you knew more than Ujiri. Damn the ESPN hype machine is something else.

Arguably the best rookie in Raptors history. Not saying he'll get to VC levels, but his floor (current) is an amazing player.

Think about it, we could have made the play-in and get bounced with nothing to show for it other than another season of FVV/Pascal. Thank God Masai didn't go that route regardless if some fans wanted it. We now have legit prospect to be hopeful for.
