We replaced Fred with Dennis Schroder and McDaniels contributed nothing. No coach would’ve won with this roster. Darko’s bread and butter is player development. That’s what he was brought in for. There are definitely coaches out there that could squeeze out a couple more wins but what’s the point when we are so far away from contention.

Those are all excuses. He's not shown anything that indicates he's a winning HC, right?

He's here to soak up L's because good head coaches don't want that.

No, those aren’t excuses. Those are facts. Prior to the season most media outlets had this team winning between 33-37 games. We weren’t and aren’t a good team. It’s also Darko’s first year as a head coach. He’s known for his player development as well as Jama. That’s far more important for this franchise because if we don’t develop any talent than this team isn’t going anywhere.

It's a results based league, this isn't a good result. If you can't identify the problems, how do we fix them.

They need 4 more wins to tie us, and I don't think they even win 2 more this season. That also assumes we lose all of our remaining games, which might seem possible at the moment but is not likely. We'll win one of those WASH games. Best case scenario remains that Memphis passes us so we slightly improve our odds of keeping the pick, and then the rest us up to the lottery gods.

You're right.

Wow the Nets are bad. Why the heck did they not take that Rockets offer to get their picks back? Assuming it was really offered.

Just think BRK gave away their firsts to HOU and they absolutely blow. Sean marks made such a disaster there.

Memphis kept it close with OKC. They should be able to win a bunch of games with JJJ and Bane.

With the return of Bane and JJJ, I am confident that Grizz will win a bunch of games down the stretch.

6th spot confirmed. The only sad thing is that the 6th spot has the highest odds to land at #7. Max pain if that happens.

He's surely getting canned the day after the season ends, I would imagine.

It will never stop being funny to me how Schroeder thought he was going to a better situation.

Go apply dude. Why didn’t you apply when it was open?

Trying to really determine if Darko is any good in this season is downright impossible.

1) we gave the keys to a 21/22 year old to start the year
2) OG / Siakam were so checked out the entire year.
3) We turned over our entire roster like 3 times. We have had 28 players suit up for us this year. 16 different guys have started a game
4) Now our entire team is injured

There was just no way this team was going to be successful with all that going on. I would be interested to see what they look like with a full off-season / training camp and some continuity going into next year.

Sometimes seasons are just lost. We straight up had a game where Gradey Dick was the longest tenured Raptor on the floor

If he's back, we're not trying to win. That's really a discussion for the people paying the seat prices.

You're probably better set out for it, with all the excuses.

Naw, I’m just stating the facts but hey looks like you know how to coach though. It seems that you found a solution being a gm, president, and a coach. You are way more qualified

I’ll preface by saying I have no idea whether Darko is a good coach or not but I have also have no idea how you’re making that assertion either. If you have examples I’m open to hearing them. What we do know:

-it should be pretty clear to everyone that the downgrade from FVV to Schroder is significant. Schroder is a bench level guy who gets tossed around the league and doesn’t impact winning

-we won games last year because of Nurse jank-ball (offensive rebounds, force turnovers, play extremely conservative on offense to limit turnovers). There obviously was some mandate of “ball movement/self-less play” that Darko tried to implement. A huge reason we suck this year is because we are neutral in terms of FGA whereas last year we had a +7 advantage in FGA (because of Nurse-ball).

-the roster Darko has (injuries, trades, etc) have all made this team worse.

-Darko also actually played young guys instead of playing all the starters crazy heavy minutes. There is a clear focus on development (which almost always equals more losses)

Is Darko as good a coach as Nurse? For a team trying to squeeze blood from a stone, no. But this team is trying to do different things, Scottie and Dick have improved (RJ is playing better here too). So maybe we traded some wins for player development. I’ll take that given the current course of the team.

I just don’t know how we can conclusively say that Darko doesn’t have “it” as a coach given the roster changes (and play style changes) that have happened this year. The above are not excuses for Darko as much as this season is a big TBD.

Smart move is to tank in '25 draft. This team lacks talent, and the stopgap measures are overrated.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

You try to secure a top 6 pick this season and then try to improve the team over the off-season, hope the rest of the guys take the next step, and make a push for the playoffs next season.

There are 14 games remaining and they'll likely go 2-12.

I don't even know why anyone thinks we're going to win any more games.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

We face Washington twice and there is a slim chance the last game against Miami means nothing to them, at which point they will trot out a lineup just as bad.
