I'd love to see it, but I'm not positive that the Warriors would trade Lee for Bargnani alone, and I see them having very little interest in swapping Curry for Davis and a 2012 1st. So yeah, pretty sure JV would have to be thrown in at the very least. Can at least toss them Bayless lol

How about Oden for the TPE? Or even Mayo for the TPE + cash or something?

Both teams a very strapped for cash and will need to spend more to get better. Maybe now would be a good time to use our TPE to steal one of these guys away?

Was wondering what you guys think of a Baron Davis trade.
Toronto Trades: Bargnani and Barbosa and 2nd round pick (use TPE if needed on Casspi or Pick)
Cleveland Trades: B. Davis and Omri Casspi and 2012 1st round pick
- Cleveland has Irving and Gibson at the PG spot.
- They get rid of Baron Davis's contract
- They get cap space next year as Barbosas contract comes to an end
- Get veteran experience from Barbosa.
- Get Bargnani's scoring presence

- Toronto will absorb Barons large contract with two years remaining
- They get another 1st round pick for taking on Davis's contract
- Get a shooter in Casspi who is a SF which the Raptors need this year.
- This trade has hug long term benefits for the raptors
- This trade will provide us with 1) an additional pick in the 2012 draft! 2) Casspi contracts up in 2 years if he fits well let’s give him an extension. He can be a starter if we do not get a young SF in the draft or he can be a solid backup SF.

Option 2
Trade Jose Calderon for Chris Kaman
Put Kaman at C and Bagnanai at PF for next year see how well Bargnanai does. Kaman has 1 year left on his contract so we will have additional cap space in 2012. This will show the fans and the organization if Bargnani should stay or go next summer.
- Many raptor fans and myself are okay with this season being an experiement season. Evaluate our current roster to see if they have the defensive skill set Casey needs to execute his team.

Option 3
- Get another 1st round pick for the 2012 draft.
- 2 top 10 picks in next year’s draft would be a dream come true.
- Trade any Raptor except Derozan, Davis, Jonas or Amir.
- I don’t mind trading for a bad contract with 1 or 2 years remaining if it will land us a 2nd pick.
- One that comes to mind is Detroit. – Rip Hamilton and 1st round pick for Bargnanai

Oden will not be had for the TPE....it just doesn't make sense. If they wanted to have Oden's contract off the books all they had to do is let him walk and not re-up on the QO. POR brought in Wallace and Felton they're clearly still trying to stay in the mix. They're hoping just as much as anyone else that would try and take on Oden that he finally stays healthy and breaks out....

**on a side note Oden needs to leave POR cuz their injury history Miles, Roy, Bowie is just terrible and makes me wonder if they're using interns for their medical staff or what**

BUT Mayo I'm pretty confident MEM would let go of. They will have all their money tied up in Gay/ZBo/Gasol....not to mention Mayo has really fallen out of favor over the last year or so. I wouldn't mind him with some TPE but Oden is THE prize this brief offseason.

Well according to Wiretap, he's considering the QO in Portland. I love to take chance on either him or Mayo though. If not Oden then definitely Mayo

2@ Ravis...no way does Cleveland give up their 2012 pick. No way...at least definitely not for Bargs. it's very hard to imagine that pick not being at LEAST top 7. They can look to add another blue chip prospect to team up with Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson.

The people I don't want to see leave;

Derozan - If the team is looking toward the future this guy has to be part of the plans
Davis - THE GUY IS JERMAINE ONEAL (even has a bad knee) but ONeal in his prime was very good
Bayless - Young very talented point guard not yet the leader but don't want to be sorry when he is
Valincunas - give him the oppourtunity to leave on his own terms like everyone else
Barbosa - I just like him.

The people i'm flexible on;

A Johnson - I'd keep him cause he keeps Derozan happy
J Johnson - Guys a black belt, super athletic and has a tonne of potential
Kleiza - I hope he has a healthy season

The people that I believe will be traded in either this season or the following pre-season;

Bargniani - Met the guy like the guy, like his offence but if he doesn't learn Casey's defensive style he'll be gone next season. He has lots of trade value.
Calderon - Class act who is a good leader on the team but I want a great leader
Evans - LOVE his HUNGER, hate that he's always hurt and very 1 dimensional.

Everyone else doesn't matter and has no current trade value to speak of.

Exception: Weems, who is over seas. I like him to.

They don't have their 2012 pick, Sacramento does..at least until lottery night.

What?

Sacramento traded Cleveland THEIR lottery-protected pick if that's what you're talking about.

Cleveland most certainly has their 2012 pick...

Read on twitter that the Spurs are supposedly wanting to move Richard Jefferson for a starting quality PF. What do you guys think of Bargnani and Alabi for Jefferson, Splitter, and 2012 1st? It's not an amazing package, but I'd prefer it to taking on someone like Gooden.

Jefferson is dead weight, so much though I dislike Bargnani, I probably wouldn't do it for a non-lotto pick. Bargnani for Jefferson + their 2013 pick, unprotected? I'd be all over that.

Only if we could have used amnesty on RJ; he has 3 yr 30 mil left on his contract.
I would take a pass on this offer.

I really doubt that the clause will work this way. It hasn't been confirmed that it won't, but most feel that we shouldn't get our hopes up.

Hmm, you think that they'll be that much worse by then? I wouldn't be adverse to that. I still want Splitter though, I think he'll be a rotation-quality player this year as he catches up to the speed of the NBA.

Have you ever heard of roster balance?

Adding Jefferson will create more of a log jam then retaining Bargs.

Decent chance that they wouldn't be much worse, but I think the odds are quite a bit higher; would be surprised if their 2012 pick was above 23, while there's an outside chance that the 2013 pick will be in the lottery. Duncan will need to be re-signed, and will begin the year at age 37, Ginobili will be 36.

RIght now the only SF's we have are Kleiza and Johnson. How would Jefferson create a logjam?

except that popovich will have turned bargs into the second coming of dirk  . i am not one to bet against the spurs organization.

Return to Toronto Raptors
