So far this draft isn't exciting me as much as I'd expect, given the hype. It's certainly deeper, but deeper doesn't do a team like ours any good. There is no Top 10 superstar for sure, no griffin or Durant or Carmelo - these guys ate up the NCAA as freshmen, and Griffin as a soph was an absolute no-brainer.
Agreed
At this point its looking like 2 superstar potential guys in Davies and Drummond, not sure fire guys like Durant or Griffin but they both have aspects of their games that will stand out more at the next level...
Drummond just needs to continue to improve as season goes on.
After that it does fall off a bit. Barnes has not stepped his game up, Miller is probably still too close to his injury to show what kind of player he really is, and then there is a whole bunch of tweeners at the top end of this draft as well.
That said, there is a boat load of talent this year and I don't think the normal 5 deep charts apply (percentage of guys that become starters drops rapidly after 5th pick in most drafts)
But it certainly does make me cheer more for wins this year. I think we have too much talent on our roster right now to compete for the top 2 guys and picks 3-10 are somewhat interchangeable at this point.
I really hope one or two of the point guards play their way into our draft range.
