Sexton as a freshman in college was a dynamic scorer, Siakam has steadily had to work and at his absolute best he was a league average jump shooter.

It isn't about who is a better shooter. Sexton is clearly a better shooter.

The conversation is about "Is Sexton on a hot streak and is bound to regress".

He is most likely going to regress some, but given his upward trajectory and the stats he put up last year if he ends up at say 48/39/80 with an increased FTR that is super impressive. That is CJ McCollum territory and given his age he could end up better than that for sure.

CJ McCollum??? That's like a 3rd option on a championship team! Cavaliers should trade him, tank and try to get a top 5 pick so they can select a true superstar.

Come on Winnie, what the heck? CJ McCollum isn't getting you a chip. What the hell? Why are you going against your winning formula?

He's also a restricted free agent after next year. He might command a near max contract based on his play. Are you going to give 30m+ for a CJ McCollum type player?

I'm disappointed in you.

Great and CJ is a great example. Is CJ a 1 or 2 guy on a championship team? Nah, he's a #3.

So Sexton is Clevelands best prospect and he's a top 3 guy? I'm not seeing the incredible upside for Cleveland here....especially as he gets paid a near max deal in a season.

Doing that at 22 with the potential to be better than CJ is nothing to scoff at.

Also, I'm not saying that the Cavs are some incredible team that will dominate the league for years to come. They have a bright future and this is year 3 of a rebuild which is reason for optimism.

Sexton is 22, Garland is 20, Okoro is 19, and Allen is 22.

I don't see how you can't be at least somewhat bullish on that. If one of those guys takes a leap then you have something potentially special. If they don't you have a great asset to make another move. As I said this is also a rebuild that wasn't even ideal and they haven't secured that #1 guy yet.

And my thought that even though older, FVV, OG and Siakam aren't really that far off. The window is just a bit shorter.

One thing I want to do stress is,

DIFFERENCE OF OPINION IS OKAY. Stop personally going after each other. This divide of TWO vs Team Medicore is binary and childish. We had enough of this in politics so let's argue basketball. Stop going at each other personally.

And to be real CJ is better suited to compliment a true #1 option because he can play off the ball and provides volume shooting as a spacer. Sexton's percentages may mirror McCollum, but he's a lower volume 3 point shooter who mostly capitalizes off open looks and is currently shooting 64% on open 3s.

I'd disagree, but it's not unreasonable.

It's early, but what if the Cavs and Raptors essentially end up in the same situation this year in terms of playoff seeding and resulting playoff performance? I think we can all agree the Raptors core is further along in their development, the supporting cast is better and have better coaching.

Can't beat a team missing Sabonis, Warren, and Lavert.

Tank is dead man. :( Masai is not making move. I just don't see it happening. Boucher was shooting out of his mind just long enough to win us enough games.

Top 3 is dead. But those in-between picks, with today's loss we're back to 12th. We're all bunched together.

I've conceded top 3.

I think we're in the Kings (6-10), pelicans (5-10), OKC (6-9), Bulls (7-9) range. I fully expect Houston, Charlotte, Miami to start winning games.

As long as we stay at 4-8 range we'll at the minimum have a 32 percent shot at top 4 at the lowest and 43 percent shot at the highest.

Didn’t NO get the number 1 pick for Zion when they had the 8th worst record? The new lotto odds mean you never know. Also silver promised us compensation

8th is the cutoff point. 9-14 have very low odds of being top 4.

None of our wins are that impressive. Not hard to tell what's gonna happen to us if we make the playoffs.

Knicks, Kings, Hornets x2 aren't good
Mavs - Richardson, Kleber, and Powell didnt play
Heat - Butler and Herro didnt play. Still lost to them once
Pacers - Warren, Levert, and Sabonis. Still lost to them once

Return to Toronto Raptors
