According to who though, I think we need more shooters on the team unless there is another move out there.

Phily will be hard to beat should they get good assets at trade deadline from Sacramento for ben.

Miami and Nets and bucks also serious contenders...

Chicago and Cleveland will be serious buyers...

Where does that leave Raptors?

I like the idea of adding a Holmes, Bagley, Turner etc, because I do think we need a big, but we desperately need another scorer in the same vein as GTJ.

Building towards contention. I'm hoping we add one rotation piece at the deadline and one rotation piece in the off-season. Hopefully we get a good prospect in the draft as well.

Next year we are in a top 6 position, top 4 if things break right.

The following year I am looking for Scottie to take a major leap and then who knows what the team looks like.

Absolutely!!!

If the Kings really are looking to make some major roster altering moves Dragic's expiring and us being a third team in any major transaction makes sense. If we could somehow steal Holmes and that incredible contract by all means, I have no idea what sort butter we would need to add.

Likely just Philly inflating Simmons price tag, but OMG if Sacramento is really willing to take on Harris' contract to get Simmons. Eeeww, we should get in on this to fleece the Kings if true.

Pascal for Haliburton + Hield + 3 FRPs 8-). Really I'll do it for 2 FRPs if they are lightly protected, but it's the Kings.

You would trade Siakam to Kings for that package?

I've always thought the Kings were a good trading partner. But whether or not we deal Siakam will depend on the direction of this team. Are we buyers? Are we sellers? How far away from contention does Masai & Co think we are?

Chicago, Milwaukee, New Jersey, Miami are safely in a different tier than we are and if Philly gets a good return for Simmons, they'll join that tier as well. This means we'll be jockeying with Boston, Atlanta & Cleveland/Detroit.

I honestly see no player that we can acquire that is going to take us into that tier but I do appreciate that with FVV playing like an all-star and Pascal playing reasonably well as of later, management may want to capitalize. If that is in fact the case, I'd would be willing to put OG, Trent, Dragic and Boucher on the table for the package above from Sacramento. Getting some firsts and Haliburton helps with our future while getting Barnes and Hield helps us right now.

Would love a move similar to how the Cavs got Allen.

I wanna rip off the kings too.

We need another PG imo flynn, banton, dragic isn't it. I want Mitchell, Hali or even fox

i'd also like Holmes and bagley if you can get him for nothing

Siakam is obviously playing great but if we are confident that Scottie Barnes is the real deal (I think he is), trading Siakam from a position of strength for some young talent and a bench makes some sense.

Siakam + Dragic for Haliburton + Barnes + Hield + 2022 top-3 protected 1st

FVV/GTJ/OG/Barnes/Birch
Haliburton/Hield/Barnes/Boucher/Achiuwa

Raps can move their 1st now for a starting C too.

Haliburton is great and then there is the chance the pick ends up being 4th overall which could net someone like Ivey, Sharpe or Banchero. This would be awesome but I can't see the Kings doing something like this. I bet Masai would be all over this though if we keep losing a couple more games.

the whole point of kings trading for siakam would be to go for the playoffs, not sure trading 2-3 starters helps them
and vice versa; goal of the raptors is to free up PF for scottie barnes, trading for harrison barnes would negate that

i rather get a 2nd 1st rounder than harrison barnes and bet on the ineptitude of the kings.

Looking at how Garland and Simons have flourished with more PT, I think Haliburton is the #1 player they keep, Fox and Barnes look like they could be sold.

IF Haliburton is indeed available, Masai needs to do whatever it takes to get him within reason.

I feel a bit bad for Flynn but Masai should just get Nick some veterans off the bench. The team is too talented for a rebuild and Nick doesn’t really trust unproven players that much.

Bring Terrence Ross and Serge back to Toronto if only cause Nick will give them lots of playing time and they can be had cheap. They’re not that young but trading for a young guy that Nick will superglue to the bench doesn’t help.

Yeah,
I like the kid a lot, but his Dad brings a lot of baggage which largely outweighs the bench role his son may one day be able to consistently provide.
