Biggest improvement from Barnes over the last 5 games aside from his defense is his discipline with the ball.

In the last 5 games, he'd had a total of 3 turnovers only. (Not a single game with more than 1)

The 5 games before that, he was averaging 3 turnovers per game. One of those games was against Boston where he got benched early for that foolish behind the back inbound pass attempt.

Looks like he's learned from his mistakes. Great sign from the rook.

I was mentioning this repeatedly, for all his hype pre draft as this defensive savant, it didn't make sense that we he was below 2 Stocks a game. I know they aren't a good measure of defense but the elite defenders of the league typically get a decent amount of BLK/STL, you just need to context to know if it's hunting for them or a result of disciplined defense.

Glad to see him hitting that 1/1 mark, it might honestly get higher

His iso dribbles are way better than I expected. That bodes well for his development, his shooting is improving. He's a keeper, love this guy l, although I was late to the party. I didn't become a fan untill a few hrs after the draft

Scottie Barnes last 5 Games as a Rim Protector

Holding opponents to 41% at the Rim. For comparison Mobley & Gobert are at 43%

Scottie Contests 7FGA at the rim, Mobley 7, and Gobert 8

He's also averaging 8 Rebounds and 2 BLKs a game in that past 5 game stretch.

Raps are 4-1 in the last 5.

You know what's crazy it's possible him and Mobley could be the Lebron and Dwade of the draft.

And then of course you have players like Giddey, Sengun, Cade, Franz, maybe Green turns into a scoring machine.

It's ironic that both Houston and Orlando picked 2 of the most hyped guys whom are struggling mightily offensively yet still might have picked 2 of the sleeper picks in Franz and Sengun.

It's a mix of willingness to get better, work ethic and actually having coaches that can fix a shot. Also not being afraid to use what he's worked on in game helps.

Just to give some perspective here are Kawhi's college numbers.

More strength? This kid is already strong, now a bigger stronger Scottie will be a problem for the rest of the league.
