With Davis and Amir already on the team I really don't see a need for Faried.

Actually, I don't really see a need for Reggie Evans (especially at the mins we give him) but with Bargnani in the lineup it makes it a need.

Simple solution: Get rid of Bargnani or make him a 6th man and we can stop needing these ridiculously one-dimensional players that can't do anything except make up for Bargnani's weaknesses.

he can defend the 3 spot with ease...... he would be similar to the role James Johnson is in, only that his game is entirely different. He would be a bench player obviously, but a pretty good one at that

The guy is not 1 dimentional....... he is only compared to Reggie because of his hustle, rebounding and toughness..... unlike Reggie, he can score too

at best he will be like Jerome Williams (JYD)

..... and at worst he might be like Renaldo Balkman :-?

Im sure a lot of teams are going to be selling their picks, especially in what is considered a weak draft class that is approaching an NBA lockout.

Q: How hard has it been to leave behind Saturday's overtime loss in the Pac-10 Tournament?

A: "Honestly, I don't think it's been that hard. It was a little heartbreaking that we lost the way we did, but that's the best we've played against Washington all year. We struggled in the win against them in Tucson, so we have a lot to take from that loss. Most of the time, you can take more from a loss than a win."

Q: What did you do during last year's NCAA Tournament?
A: "The first couple days I just went home and got basketball off my mind, but then I started watching. It was hard watching the teams we had just played going out there and winning, seeing the celebrations, and knowing that we should've been a part of that, especially with the rich tradition we have here. But as it went on, it was good . . . just knowing we could be back there next year."

Q: What NCAA Tournament from your childhood stands out?

A: "Actually, I think last year was one of the great stories in the NCAA Tournament. There have been others as well, like the Fab Five. I was watching them just (Sunday) night on ESPN. With Chris Webber and Jalen Rose and company, a team that got to the Final Four in back-to-back years. Just showing the pride that they had, knowing that after losing that first year, they were going to get back to the Final Four the next year and nothing was going to hold them back. That gave me great motivation, and even last year, Butler, coming from nowhere and shocking the world. They almost made that buzzer-beating shot. It was a great tournament."

Q: You have a history with Memphis. You almost went there after de-committing from USC. What happened?

A: "Honestly, I was about to commit on my visit there, but I knew that I had one more visit left (to Arizona). I talked to my mom. She didn't make the decision for me, but she just wanted me to come back and make sure I was making the right choice. But I was really close."

Q: You're a 60.3 percent 3-pointer shooter, and yet your coach, Sean Miller, says you aren't the best practice shooter. What gives?

A: "A lot of people shoot well in practice, but sometimes when they get to the big stage, the bright lights, they see that and they get shocked. They just can't shoot as well. But when I'm in the game, I'm just in the mode."

Q: You're the Pac-10 Player of the Year. What does that mean to you?

A: "A lot of it has to do with our team. Last year, if I was playing the same way, I wouldn't have gotten this much attention. That's why everybody on the All-American lists, their teams are in the Top 25. Jimmer Fredette (of BYU) is in the top 10. Jared Sullinger (of Ohio State) is on the No. 1 team, so a lot of it has to with how many wins you have."

Q: What is it about Arizona that makes you think you can put together a tournament run?

A: "Chemistry. A lot of teams at this time might be focusing on individual awards and trying to get their name out there, but I don't think that's the case with our team. Everybody's here to win. It's a whole new season, and we're trying to go 6-0."

Derrick Williams has admitted that his pinky injury that he has been suffering the past 2 months was an actual break.

"Damn .. Finally 100%. Played a lot if games with a broke finger on my shooting hand. Perfect timing for the tournament! It's a 6 game season now!"

another thing I want to note is that when assessing players in the ncaa, it is very important to consider their age and the type of team they are on.

Kemba Walker is a third year, so his poise and ability is obviously going to be very different than a freshman.
Harrison Barnes plays on an extremely talented team that allows him to play his natural position on both ends of the floor. Furthermore, the style his team plays allows him to receive minimal attention from opposing teams defense and he is given a lot of very good/open looks.

Every college player is a victim (for good or for worse) of the circumstance that they are in.

Good podcast from Bill Simmons and Chad Ford regarding draft prospects.
Both guys were really pimping Fredette calling him the next Stephen Curry.
Also, Ford is high on Kenneth Faried.
Walker also got high marks.

The thing is no one would have expected the NCAA Steve Nash to become the NBA Steve Nash either. Its not only that he was picked 15th overall, but the style of which he played the game totally evolved.
