i ask the same in the previous thread.. why not involving him more on offense? See that Rytas rather shoot than giving the damn ball to Big V..

Rytas fans have been asking that for an entire season.

His usage rate will go way up in the NBA because pick and roll is such a fundamental aspect of the North American game. Post ups, too.

Yes, but you need pg who can run pick and roll properly thats why I hope Jose stays here atleast as bench pg. Imagine if Nash would sign with Raptors how he would make Jonas game easy as like now he is doing with Gortat.

Just watch Bargnani when he's hedging strongly, he puts feet and torso forward, rarely uses his hands, and that forces the guard to circle wider, eating up clock. It's very effective when he does it with energy like he did against Charlotte and Philly. With Jonas using his hands, he doesn't get the same degree of pressure on the ballhandler, he's weaker like Ed or Amir on hedges.

he definitely needs to get stronger, but actually you can see in the Jonas story that the organization is already working with him in this aspect.. Big V is still 19, and yes his chest needs to bulk up.. if so, will he lose part of his quickness or athleticism??

He was weighted before draft as 245lbs from pictures I would guess he is in 250-255 range now. I think he should max out as 265 more than that would slow him down.

I think Bargnani is closer to 260.

its really important for Big V to bulk up.. if he doesnt, we'll have a weak frontcourt like Bosh/ Bargnani

They have Gortat at 245. I really do not believe Vals weight was 245 before draft, although everybody says so. I know his length makes him look thinner but still.

A lot of his weight in in his lower body... that's a good thing for a big man. He'll add some muscle to his upper body, but his lower body is what will help him hold his position down low.

Valanciunas joins Victor Claver of Power Electronics Valencia, Milan Macvan of Hemofarm Vrsac and Donatas Motiejunas of Benetton Basket Bwin on the list of player to win the prestigious Eurocup Rising Star Trophy. He also becomes the youngest player to receive the honor. Now, Valanciunas aims to join Claver, whom he will square off against in the Eurocup semifinals, as the only players to lift the Eurocup title after becoming the Eurocup Rising Star. Valanciunas will finish his spectacular Eurocup season by leading Rytas into the 2012 Eurocup Finals in Khimki, Russia on April 14 and 15.

The award only existed since 2009. So I'm not sure if that really means anything.

You have to understand that the muscle and strength can be on the various body parts. If his lower body has more muscles and more strength then he as well can weight as much as gortat though his upper body which is what usually catches ones eye looks much thinner. This could be the case.

BTW Kirilenko won the VTB MVP. Jonas is third.

Beverley is Eurocup MVP, because his team had the best record.

Eurocup doesn't mean much. Seriously, if would've been a fail if he didn't win the award.

Beverley deserved the MVP award, not Valanciunas. Eurocup was very fair and proper in their awards. Valanciunas deserved the first team selection and the rising star award, and he got both. Beverley was the guy that led and carried his team, not to mention his great defense, so he definitely easily deserved the MVP award.

Valanciunas got what he deserved. He would not be deserving of the MVP, even if his team had the same exact record. He was the second best player of Eurocup, after Beverley.

I will say that Beverley looked like chicken with his head cut off during both games against Lietuvos Rytas. I didn't see more of him, but I guess he played better in other matches, but still, MVP? Really?

He had a better season than Valanciunas did, and he played on a team with a better record. So yes, he was the correct choice for MVP.

Forget Jonas, http://www.eurocupbasketball.com/eurocu ... enumber=12

it just doesn't look like MVp stats to me. 0/8 3PT? Overall 25%... Just meh... Eurocup level seems to be the highest in years this season and him getting the MTV doesn't represent it in my opinion.

Still don't know how you decided that beverley "had a better season than Valanciunas did"
