Will wait until deadline but I'm I've said this before, it'll likely be an unclamatic deadline with our management letting the team dictate their future as they are confident drafting anywhere. The way its working it'll likely be in teens but then again, they may just move Powell.

This is from hoopshype published five years ago:
Masai and Webster will bide their time and make the right trade in due time if necessary.
In the end the Raptors balked at sending Cory Joseph, Norman Powell, Patrick Patterson and their No. 9 pick to Oklahoma City for Ibaka. Ujiri wants to add to his talent base, not create a new weakness (bench strength), which is why he stood still at the trade deadline too.
Masai and Webster will bide their time and make the right trade in due time if necessary.

Beautiful receipts.

I doubt they're "sleeping". These buyout candidates are all trying to sign with the Lakers, clippers, heat, Celtics. You can't blame them, all those teams are contenders.
I trust our front office in the trading market, best in the business, they know better than you and I.

I’m glad we don’t have reactionary short-sighted management that broadcasts their long term plans to appease an impatient fanbase.

Shut up OP.
Do you think you can do better than Masai and Bobby?
Then you don't need to be on realgm cause you're a superstar!
God damn why are the mods here so bad?
"Shut up OP" is not okay. Also warned for attacking mods. You've been warned on both before. Take some time off.

I for one dont even care if we make a trade, what am I concerned with is how disengaged Masai appears to be with the team and fans.
I mean the only time I have read or heard of anything with Masai in the last year was the cop issue.
Disappointing

Lol what kind of thinking is this? So you can't question anything that management does because you don't have their position?
Masai/Bobby have been great but that's some sheep like logic there. A message board exists to discuss different viewpoints...

I think you mean anticlimatic. Thrre is continuity and then there is just letting poeple walk. We let Serge walk. Marc walk and Danny Green walk. The idea was theu did what they were suppose to. I think this season and the half bubnle before it are so strange that standing still ignores opportunities to do something meaningful in two half seasons that weren't. Grange may say they'll do nothing with Lowry and that doesn't make any sense for team getting clobbered by runs of losses to start the season and now with Covid infections.

Interesting, I couldn't remember that offer.
Masai and Bobby definitely bought low on Ibaka when he was struggling in Orlando, and sold High on T-Ross (who had decent regular season stats and shooting, but putrid in the playoffs) with a low draft pick, 25th vs 9th.

The difference of dealing with Sam Presti and Rob Hennigan. I think that Ibaka trade ended his career in Orlando. He sent out Oladipo + Sabonis + Ilyasova. A year later CoinTossRoss and an end of the draft 1st.

Re: Masai and Bobby are Asleep at the Wheel
Raptors have the longest streak in the entire NBA for not making an in season trade. They've been brilliant in the past, but this year definitely seems different.
They went all in for Giannis and I dont even think he considered coming her either how quickly he signed that extension. In the meantime we lost both our starting C's in Ibaka and Gasol and replaced them with actual hobos off the street. Definitely Masai's worst off season is his entire career in Toronto. Completely perplexed that he hasn't made ANY moves yet to either bolster the lineup or reshuffle for a rebuild. Doing nothing is not an option for an organization that wants to compete for another championship in the future.

This year feels different because in no other year could half your team be wiped out by a virus at once. If you liked what management did before, you'll probably be fine with their decision-making now.

You should take your own advice and shut up. This is a basketball forum where we discuss Raptors basketball. Some threads are better than others. If you don't like it nobody is stopping you from ignoring the thread. You don't have the right to tell someone else to shut up because his/her view differs from yours.
The quoted post has been handled. Let's not tell each other to shut up anymore.

Re: Masai and Bobby are Asleep at the Wheel
This is the team Masai started with 34-48
Lowry
DeRozan
Gay
Amir
Bargnani
JV
Alan Anderson
Fields
Ross
Lucas III
He turned that into a championship team with
Lowry
Green
Kawhi
Pascal
Gasol
Fred
Ibaka
Norm
OG
A recap:
2013 Trade Bargnani for 1st round pick + that lead to Jakob Poeltl
2013 Trade Gay for Vazques, Salmons, PatPat
2014 Trade Salmons for Lou Williams and Bebe
2015 Trade Vasquez for Norm Powell +1st round pick (OG)
2016 Draft Pascal with 27th pick and Poeltl, sign Fred undrafted
2017 Draft OG with 23rd pick
2017 Trade TRoss and pick for Serge
2018 Trade DeMar and Poeltl for Kawhi and Green
2019 Trade JV and Delon for Gasol
Win Chip
This man knows what he is doing. He made this team better every year on route to that chip. It wasn’t just the Kawhi trade.
Taking a step back this year is not a big deal. We are about to watch the rebuild to our next contender. Sit back and enjoy the view.

I know there are some bad FA signings in between those moves, but damn every one of those moves proved to be big-wins for our team and championship run. EVERY ONE. Other GM's might be scared to trade with our FO, and that might be the reason for nearly 2 years of in-season inactivity.
My favourite trade (besides the obvious Kawhi trade) is Vasquez for Norm Powell + FRP (OG). We've been clowning the Bucks since 2015.

Of the 10 players you listed when Masai got here, 5 were lottery picks, all top 10 I believe. Tradeable assets. And he did trade all of them. We have ZERO currently.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

pretty sure Chris Boucher is stronger than you, smarter than you, tougher than you, harder-working than you and richer than you so maybe try a different slant...

Where a player is drafted has very little relevance once they are veterans. It does speak to Masai's incredible draft success though.

But people keep pushing the narrative that we won 2019 with no lottory picks, because that would be a monumental achievement - except it's not true.
