Yes, but the question is are you ready to congratulate Brogdon and Sabonis yet?

I think so too, have 8-10 battle it out for the last playoff spot. 9th plays 10th, winner plays 8th, final winner gets in.

I wonder if the 9th/10th should keep a portion of their lottery odds even if they make it to the playoffs as well to entice 10th-ish teams to fight to the end.

This is slowly devolving into a tanking thread, which it is not.

Look at the games remaining, we are 4 back currently - it's quite realistic we go 5-1 and they go 2-6 with all their injuries - which gets us in

I agree with this but you can't rule out of consideration a 1 in 3 chance for a top 4 pick. Without the lottery odds....I would be hoping for a playin game. The way the odds stack up....it's absolutely worth losing to secure a 7 or 8 seed rather than an 11th or 12th

Okay great, take that to two or draft thread or the other five threads about that. This thread is for talking about getting into the playoffa

At this point, this thread is about the Magic number to get eliminated from play in. Odds for the play in are slim to none

Naw, we go 5-1 and Pacers go 2-6 and we're in. see above for the breakdown.

Pacers vs. Kings tonight.
Pacers are still down Brogdon, but Fox and Barnes are out. I would count this as 1 of the 2 wins allowable for the pacers in the raps play-in scenario.

Pacers:

PG - Caris LeVert, SG - Edmond Sumner, SF - Doug McDermott, PF - Oshae Brissett, C - Domantas Sabonis

Kings:

PG - Delon Wright, SG - Buddy Hield, SF - Maurice Harkless, PF - Marvin Bagley III, C - Richaun Holmes

Injury Report
Pacers:

Goga Bitadze - questionable (left ankle sprain), Malcolm Brogdon - questionable (sore right hamstring), Jeremy Lamb - questionable (sore left knee), Edmond Sumner - questionable (bruised left knee), JaKarr Sampson - out (concussion), Myles Turner - out (partial plantar plate tear, right foot great toe), T.J. Warren - out (left foot stress fracture)

Kings:

Chimezie Metu - questionable (low back soreness), De'Aaron Fox - out (health & safety protocol), Harrison Barnes - doubtful (left adductor tightness), Tyrese Haliburton - out (left knee), Robert Woodard II - out (lower back soreness)

We’re not going 5-1 lol. If we were even trying we wouldn’t be sitting guys in what would be considered crucial games

Good luck if you really expect that. I don’t see more than 2 wins left. If we were trying to make a push we would be playing guys even if they weren’t 100%

Not saying it isn't possible but is it probable is the question? Majority of the teams we're facing are also trying to either no be in the playin or secure their playoff spot. It's not going to be easy and for any player on our team that has a lingering injury, do we want to sacrifice their long term health a shot at a play-in? There's a lot that's weighing in these next couple of games.

seriously it is probable we go 5-1 if everyone played. That's why we need to shutdown OG, Lowry and FVV for the games vs Wizards, Bulls and Pacers.

No it isn’t. Even if everyone played we wouldn’t be 5-1. Team is garbage.

Exactly (minus the desire to shut everyone down part)

Pacers completely in shambles. Down by 21 to the Kings, and assistant coach Greg Foster had to be separated from their player goga after he gave up a big defensive play.

This team is ripe for the picking.

I like your optimism but 1 we would have to play all our guys and stop resting people which I don’t see happening and 2 we are terrible on back to backs so we are definitely losing to Dallas. I also don’t see us beating Washington with how well they’re playing but that’s just me. That game will probably go down to the wire and we’ve been terrible down the stretch of close games sadly.

Wow. Pacers falling off this hard is the only reason I still have hope Raptors can make the play in. We would have to stop resting guys though

Thanks for the balanced perspective, and good point about Dallas. We'll see if Masai pivots again. He did it once this year after we got back in the race, could it happen again?

With how the pacers are playing we might be able to lose 2.
