Didn't he meet with management a few days ago? And now this? I wonder what went on in that meeting?
Them: "You gonna shoot threes or not?"
Him: "Na"

The opportunity was there for both sides - 76ers wasted a season for a 28th pick and a guy who scored 2 points in a Game 7 loss.
It's already been reported from multiple sources that Maxey and picks were on the table. It was the Raptors who rejected the deal hoping for more. It's cognitive dissonance from Raptors fans thinking a Lowry deal didn't happen because of other teams and not this management.
For Simmons there is 0 reason the 76ers would be interested in a 35 year old PG on a large extension as part of the return.

So my guess is like Golden State will end up trading for him (assuming they have the cap space room for him). Raps could use him if they did a 3 man frontcourt of Siakam/OG/Simmons with 2 guards of FVV/GTJr-#4 Pick. I would like them risk it but I'll understand why they won't
Warriors would need a 3 team trade because none of their assets help Philly. Perhaps it makes sense to do the Wiseman+Wiggins+7+14 deal with Siakam going to Philly and Simmons to Warriors.
That makes more sense, but if I were GSW, Siakam's a better fit - why do you want 2 playmaking bigs that struggle from the perimeter?
I think Simmons and Dray can play together, but maybe they move Draymond for.a.better fit if they think it won't work. Drsy will still have a lot of trade value.

OKC doesn't seem like a team that would want to pay a FRP to absorb Simmons. I could be wrong though.
But Lowry accepting a taxpayer MLE (ie approx 6 million/year) to play for Philly is absolutely not going to happen. He's not giving up $15million/year for a chance at a second ring.
If Lowry cares about money, he can go to the Knicks or other teams.
I think you mistaken "Trade" & Sign which does not exist. It is called "Sign" and Trade, meaning the FA decides if he needs the previous team to help with a trade, and if the asking price is too much, then the FA can look for other solutions.
We do not have control where Lowry wants to go and if he wants to do a Sign & Trade. Lowry may not even need a Sign & Trade to begin with.
Nobody is confused. These are all working on the assumption that Lowry wants to go to Philly, Philly wants Lowry, and that they can work out a agreed upon salary. :
I think people are confused that they can ask for more than the salary.
You think if we do a S&T for a C (eg. Holmes), the other team can ask for OG? Obviously not, we can send him Baynes and a young player that is expandable, but not like they can ask for whatever.

I have no idea what you're talking about with a backup C and trading OG.
You know you don't need to type every thought that comes into your mind, right?

It depends what the salaries are coming back as well. If they give us Harris with Maxey and picks, I would also say no.

The Raptors reportedly asked for Maxey + Thybulle + 2 FRPs. When Morey himself said Toronto's price was in "La La Land", that implies they weren't even close.

Seems that you are, actually.
Here, let me explain it to you as basically as possible so you can get the hang of it.
Player negotiates with a team that he wants to sign with. They agree on a potential contract.
Team doesn't have the cap room to sign that player. Calls player's original team. Those teams negotiate a trade that allows the new team to be able to take in the player at the agreed contract.
Really not that complicated. I don't see what you're getting into a fuss about.

The correct response. Pascal is good and has a ring. Simmons - tbd.
Pascal + picks for Simmons

You would say no to Harris AND Maxey AND picks? I don't think I would. Lowry is a UFA - anything we get for him is house money.

Or perhaps you are not clearly understand how it works.
Teams send offer to player agent, team estimate how they are signing a player.
Player decide on the contract.
Team doesn't have the cap room to sign that player. Calls player's original team. That team tell the original team what they will give them as a base, and original team can accept it or get nothing.
Failed to do a S&T, player can decide a team with cap room.
I think you are getting into a fuss about the original team can call for what they want.

Obviously no to Harris for making us a tax team. Dumping him isn't easy neither.

That's the point, there was a reasonable deal to be had, but the Raptors asked for the moon and the 76ers ultimately said no. I'm not sure how anyone can fault Morey for saying no to a deal that doesn't guarantee the 76ers anything and severely undercuts not only their future, but their overall asset base.

if we get Simmons , the idea should be to have him playing with FVV, OG and Pascal. It would be pointless otherwise.

And my point was that the Sixers tried to play it cute all for saving an extra pick or bench player which didn't help them much in the end anyway. I haven't seen it reported anywhere that they even offered 2/4 assets listed.
There are no guarantees in life let alone the NBA, but I find it incredibly hard to believe they lose in 7 to Atlanta with Lowry on that team.

Kyle Lowry just doesn’t have the value people would like to believe here.
Adding Ray Allen was key to the Heat title but his trade value wasn’t that high. There are a plethora of players of that ilk.
Kyle with his contract demands, Masai demands, age and injury issues along with play taking a step back is just not that valuable.

People saying Pascal or Fred have rings makes me laugh.
Adam Morrison has two.
Kenny Smith has two.
Kenny > Charles Barkley I guess. Or Karl Malone. Or Stockton.

PHI gets Kyle, #16, 18 for Simmons
OKC gets #4, Simmons for SGA, #6, 16, 18
TOR gets SGA, #6 for Kyle, #4
Not sure how salaries would work though, but hey, it's fun.
