Everybody is losing their freaking minds. Nutbars and wingnuts have infested this forum. We've become a public lavatory without cleaning staff.

Value would've gone up regardless since the rising tide of the NBA lifts all franchises, but you can't tell me that the entire We The North had zero effect. That era defined what it meant to be a Raptors fan in this city and country. People buy tickets, merch or watch games for teams they don't care about.
Of course, but Toronto , the fans, etc are the driving force. Give yourselves credit.
Fans rewarded winning. People wouldn't pay these ticket prices for under .500 team

Of course we're likely knowing all of this now, probably because Ed Rogers was just removed - voted off in fact - of the Rogers board.
It happened last week.

It was co-sourced. I think it's pretty obvious that a story like that has to be leaked to a major newspaper. Michael Grange would end up looking for work if he had to post that.

Guarantee Masai is pissed about this story. Rogers board dispute shouldn't involve him.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

There's a reason we don't have $10 Sprite Zone tickets anymore.

This quote sums it up. Rogers wanted to cheap out and get Bobby to run the Raptors for a lot less than they would pay Masai.
He told his partners he felt the compensation was too high, and, according to the MLSE sources and a source close to the NBA, Rogers was convinced the Raptors could be managed without Ujiri’s help by existing general manager Bobby Webster.
While I like Bobby, putting him in charge would have a similar outcome to when Pat Gillick left the Blue Jays and his right hand man - Gord Ash took over. The Jays went from being one of the top organizations in MLB to being a run-of-mill lower tier organization.
I also think that Masai's support of social justice causes and his relationship with progressive figures like Obama irked Edward.

Liberals can be very confused too.

Fans & winning go hand-in-hand. Unless you're the Leafs.
Or the Knicks

Miss that section. Sat in the sprite zone for numerous games, but one of my memorable ones was for Lebron's first game in Toronto.
Good times.

Kinda miss the days when you could buy tickets against the Spurs on a random February weekday night for $4 on stubhub that day. But I'd also trade all that for the ring.

I'm not doubting the accuracy of this article at all but to those wondering why a story like this comes out now...it's a favour to someone with influence.

Dang, long live Mr. Tanenbaum indeed. Hope there’s a solid contingency plan for when he needs to step down.
He definitely dialed 91... when he saw them get out of the car.
Yeah, but he's on Rogers network and it's Muskoka, so the signal is spotty at best.

Make no mistake. Nobody on that board from Rogers or Bell is a good person. They're all scum whose goal in life is to **** as hard as they possibly can.
Mirko was pushing hard for usage based billing 10 years ago. He argued that removing internet data caps would bankrupt poor Bell.
This was him meeting with the head of the CRTC over beer a few years ago. Totally no conflict of interest:Spoiler:
Yeah, Mirko Bibic is a real POS. I remember the days when he was the regulatory guy at Bell and fought for all sorts of anti-consumer behavior. I was real surprised to find out he's now the CEO of Bell.

Martha is on Twitter. Ed is in the boardrooms. Place your bets. I don't think this impacts Raptors regardless of what happens at RCI.

Masai re-upped. Nothing to be worried about. This all happened in July and just coming out now cuz Melinda booted him.
