19/10/2 on 63/31/73 without CP3 in three years is pretty good to me. He can play well without CP3.

Theyre 8-1 without him this season. He's a C with good touch who can score. He's a slightly better JV making almost twice as much in a league that doesnt value scoring low post C's. His defense has both been awesome and mediocre over the past 2 years and he has motor and attitude issues.

Stay away from him.

The Suns are 25-15 without CP3 the past three years. We were 12-2 without Lowry in 2019-20. We were 17-5 without Kawhi in 2018-19.

Ayton's numbers are better and he's just as efficient without CP3.

It's not just about wins, his impact metrics (RPM,BPM,even simple +/-) either rate him as an average C or (in RPM case) one of the worst starting C's in the league. He has good hands and can finish in traffic. He also is slow, cant really switch on the perimeter and, most importantly, cant make quick reads with the ball.

He's the classic low post C who's overrated by traditional stats but hated by impact metrics. Let's just trade less for JV if we're looking for a C like that.

Honestly, is there a big difference between JV and Ayton? I dont really see it besides 1 being paid significantly more and having more attitude issues.

Far from clear that Ayton is a great defender. He was a component of a very good defense on a team that didnt have a single weakness on that end from their guards to their forwards. But it's hard to find any actual metric that shows him as a standout defender. He's closer to neutral on that end.

Quick note: 3/5 years (the last 3 years, to be exact) the Suns have been better defensively with Ayton off the court than with him on. Which is odd considering theyve never really had great backup C's.

I just looked it up and was shocked at how bad his impact metrics are. I'm not saying there can't be outliers in either direction but when you're that bad at every impact metric that's not a good sign. LOL. That's strange to see because I was really impressed with what I saw in the NBA playoffs in 2021. I still think he's much better value than some of the other deals I've seen that's been floated around here for Fred.

He's not a rim protector, just a pull up machine in chiseled 7'0" frame. hard pass.

Why not both? If we’re trading Siakim why not get both Ayton and Bridges? A Barnes, Bridges, OG 4-2 would be a terror defensively. All you need is a PG that can setup teammates, play defence and hit from 3, you have the foundation of an high floor team.

So we go from having one guy who can dribble and is a legitimate primary scoring option to having nobody with those skills? We should do everything possible to add an elite player next to Pascal before looking to trade him.

Well that’s why you have to get some play making guards with this trade. It’s by no means the final piece but it’s plugs a lot of holes. Not say I even advocate for it because Ayton ultimately comes with his own set of problems, but just showing one way the trade could work

Ayton has been amazing without CP3. Ayton definitely has some question marks but if we can get a guy like him for a deal involving Fred, that would be great value. Ayton is only 24 years old.

CP actually hurts Aytons game because of how ball dominant CP usually is. CP is usually good to raise the level of scrub Cs, not one who can iso and get his own bucket.

This is horrendous.

I think that offer is actually not bad for an expiring FVV. Only thing I'd suggest is have them put in Suggs, Ross, and Isaac. We can include Birch, and Juancho/Banton.

There's the lack of leverage problem with the Magic, so I'm wondering if they'd be a candidate for the FVV/Gary package. They can't get them both in FA, so that opens the leverage.

Isaac would be the haul to complete the vision but I just don't see them giving him up.

Only thing is they will also be competing with Lakers, Timberwolves, Heat, Clippers, Suns, Wizards and Mavs who are all reportedly interested in him, so I'm not sure they have an insane amount of leverage.

And basically this road trip will determine everything for the team in regards to direction.

This is why fans cheer for loses. How do you still not know what you have in your team? There’s enough sample size here.

Deciding the future of your franchise based on a handful of games before the trade deadline is wild to me.

The team is not a contender and the roster construction is terrible.

Jerami Grant recently turning down Portland's extension offer of $112M over 4 years is crazy. OG probably looking at that and thinking hey I'm better than that dude and eyeing 30M+ in FA.

FO doing the right thing fielding offers to see what his value is. His value will diminish once he signs a much higher contract.

Would be sad though if FO trades OG instead of Fred.
