Not sure about that, this isn't a pure PG heavy draft.

It's not PG heavy but with the #13 and OG/Siakam they can definitely make a splash and land two combo guards. The forward and center depth is fine.

More like backup PG in such a weak draft. Weaker than last 2 years. Our 13th pick are more comparable to 18th pick.

So Miami needs to dump salary to resign their guys. Maybe Pascal, Otto for Green+4 creates a TPE big enough to take Kyle back plus #18 for our trouble. This maintains the salary slot and gives us a good backup guard/assistant coach.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Nah, its either or.

Best package possible for one of Pascal or Og. I really hope it Pascal (who I really like) because OG fits the Scottie world better.

The only problem with that is that extra usage is going to go to Scottie. Scottie isn't ready to take the extra usage. Scottie will then start getting **** on by people here.

i think 3rd year Scottie should be ready for a growth spurt in his game + extended usage. but then again growth is not linear.

We don't want linear from Scottie, we want a big leap.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

agreed. but we can't expect that. dude is only 21. maybe we're expecting too much out of him too. gotta keep out expectations in check.

with no jumpshot, it severly limits his abilities next season.

Something that would never happen…but I’m bored, so let’s make some assumptions first.

1. Harden goes to Houston and needs a running mate because Rockets aren’t keen to send future high draft picks to OKC, but also don’t want to trade Green/Smith/Sengun
2. Golden state is not keen to spend $500m on a 6th seed, but aren’t willing to quietly go off into Curry’s sunset either
3. Toronto moves off Siakam to build around Scottie
4. Indiana wants to move up in draft to get Cam Whitemore who Pistons apparently are targeting

Houston: Siakam, #26
Golden State: Kevin Porter Jr, #32
Toronto: #7, Poole, Eason, #19, #20, 2024 Brooklyn 1st, 2024 2nd Brooklyn, 2025 2nd Minnesota
Indiana: #4

Why?

Indiana gets their guy and unloads some of their excess draft capital. Whitmore has size to play 3 or 4. #7/26/32 for #4.

Golden State gets a very talented player on a very team friendly deal in exchange for Poole who needs a new team. Between the difference in contract of Porter and moving down in draft to second round, Warriors save about $14m in salary which will save them over $100m in salary and taxes.

Houston gets a running mate for Harden and don’t sacrifice any of their main young guys minus Eason.

Raptors move Siakam opening door for Barnes. Barnes playing a Sabonis type facilitator in offense means a score 1st guard like Poole would thrive. Poole put up big numbers as a starter and is the ultimate buy low. Don’t forget he was a major piece on a championship team and is still just 23. Eason is a do it all, high energy player and would provide depth. Raptors leave the draft with 4 picks in top 20. #7 take Bilal. fingers crossed for Wallace, and if not Bufkin or whoever falls at #13, Dick? 19 and #20, shooters and scorers: Whitehead, Podz, Bailey, Sasser. Get a 2024 pick and a couple of 2nds to replenish draft pick cupboard.

*depending on how much money GS wanted to save and if Kuminga requests a trade, GSW could shave off nearly another $10m in salary/tax by swapping Kuminga to Toronto for Eason to GS.

Next, send Flynn somewhere where he actually gets a chance, maybe Golden State takes him in above trade?

In free agency, re-sign Poeltl and Banton. Use MLE to get maybe get a more experienced guard and/or add a C. I would like the Raptors to start transitioning Precious to more perimeter play, especially on D.

Raptors lineup:

Poole, Wallace/Bufkin (13), Podz (20)
OG, Bilal (7), Banton
Eason/Kuminga, OPJr, Whitehead (19)
Barnes, Boucher, Precious
Poelt, Koloko

i can't think of an NBA team has ever used 4 first round picks in the same draft. nobody wants 4 rookies. the two best assets in the deal are Siakam & the 4th pick and the Raptors get/keep neither.

I'm aware on draft picks. I'm sure 1 or 2 spend majority of season in 905. Masai has always treated 12-15 slots as feeder system.
