This account is claiming Utah has interest. Ainge passed on Giannis for Kelly Olynyk despite having scouted him in person. Presti passed on GA for Steven Adams. They may feel compelled to not make the same mistake twice.

I'd buy that we were the team that gave him a promise. FO just recently went to Europe. Masai is buds with his agent. His agent isn't going to want his client in freaking Utah or OKC when he can play in a world class city with a French speaking star.

Bilal rising is a good thing. We could get a steal.

Just trade up or draft someone else. Miami's in the Finals right now. Chew on that for the afternoon.

Still looking into Coulibaly...my opinion on him may be changing slightly but I'm not sure yet. Going to keep looking.

What I can say is as of right now I do prefer him over guys like Hawkins, Dick, George. I have him in the same tier as Bufkin and Wallace in terms of who I'd prefer at #13.

If these guys are off the board, let's move back and grab the two Brooklyn picks

I’m not shocked Coulibaly is blowing up. Could see this coming in March. I do hope Raptors get him one way or another.

After last game highlights I said something to the effect of he has no left. Looks like the other team didn’t scout for him outside of catch & shoot or transition offense. This game they forced him left, and lo and behold, kid has a left hand!

You typically trade up with draft capital which this management threw away. Also, when has Masai ever traded up? Not attempted, actually executed? Chew on that.

What besides age is preventing Sasser from being a lottery pick? Size? I don’t see too many weaknesses. He should be in consideration at 13 with DWH but for different reasons of course.

You can trade up with draft capital or talent, both happen frequently enough that one isn't considered typical. Doesn't matter what Masai has done in the past, if he wants one player only and that player is out of range, then that's what he has to do. If he doesn't want one player only, then he'll just take the next one down.

Not likely based on Masai's history, draft history, existing draft capital, and likely other assets to move up 1 or 2 spots. The decision was made on Feb 9th.

It's also likely that the player everyone wants at 9-16 isn't worth the hype. That's just the odds of the draft. But, if he really wants Coulibaly because he thinks he's special, OG +13 will move him up high enough to get it done.

Had to see this sh*T with how royally they already f’d up. I wanna believe that they’ll be smart enough to trade Pascal for the 3rd or 4th but given just the whole vibe of this sh*T season — I fully expect Sergio to be the hire, then we basically run it back but one of George or Bufkin take Gary’s spot….cue Press Conference “blah blah injuries or we would’ve been in the thick of it like last year, blah blah blah give these guys a fair chance blah oRgaNic gRowTh blah we gotta be better” …then trade away 2 picks this time for a “really good vet that can also contribute” & help push us further….

Get ready for the new catch phrase “incremental improvement each day, each year” lol just watch.

Takes 2 to tango.

I don't see Portland moving Scoot for Siakam.

Like many are mentioning, Bilal climbing means someone else falls. I think it's between Grady, Ausar and Cason - all awesome options! Only outcome that would cause me stress would be if it was Ant Black on the board - Bufkin would be my choice in that scenario

I've been a big Bilal fan for months, but people may be jumping the gun if they think he's going to contribute next year. I was actually half-dreading the prospect of us taking him and listening to a year of whining that he's a bust or a bruno-clone as he builds strength and refines his game. He's going to be ignored on the perimeter, and will need to add strength and skill to deal to be able to impose his will in the paint. I believe in him, but I think it's going to take time (see Jalen Johnson, who started with a strength advantage)
