Assuming Barnes doesn't declare, I'd say:

Irving
Williams
Kanter
Jonas (Kanter & Jonas are close in my books)

and then any of
Knight, Walker or Vesely

Let's just hope that Williams still declares.

I've put mine down a few pages ago but this is how it's looking now:

Irving (the prize)
Barnes (if he's in)
D Will (if he can defend the 3 spot)
Kanter/Val (leaving it to the brass or if we get some good footage/updates from workouts)

I'm not interested in any other prospect in this draft and would be devastated if we don't get one of the guys listed above.

I don't see how Val will be able to compete in the NBA. He is not strong enough to effectively guard bigger Lithuanians, so I'm not sure how he will manage against the strength/athleticism of NBA centers. Further, his current foul rate (against truly horrendous competition) is absolutely atrocious, and this is only going to become more problematic in the NBA. Honestly, his ceiling is Biedrins, and the likelihood of him reaching that isn't even great. If that's what you want with a top-5 pick, go for it.

He's a major project, that's for sure but looking at this draft it's not the worst thing in the world, especially since we've just started our rebuild and can afford a couple of years of "growing pains".

This should be the board...

1. Kyrie Irving
2. Harrison Barnes
3. Derrick Williams
4. Bismack Biyombo
5. Kemba Walker

If the Raptors fall out of the Top 3, Bismack Biyombo should be the pick.

Granted, I've only seen Val play off a few fuzzy internet streams, but he's not similar to beans, IMHO. Valanciunas has longer arms, and plays more defence (not just weak side shot blocking) than Beans, and Valanciunas's arms and grit will, I think, make him at least as good a shot-blocker as Beans, and a better rebounder once he gains some muscle and can't be pushed off the block.

Beans never managed to bulk up - he is actually taller and skinniner than Val now (at age 25, Beans is 7 ft, 240 pounds) while Valanciunas is 6'11', 240 lbs. If you look at Val's body now, its clear he will fill in further. The other big difference is free throw shooting - Valanciunas has always shot 80%-90% at the FT line, which beats Beans by 30%-40%.

Kanter seems similar to DeJuan Blair for me in that he is overlooked for whatever reason. These type of players do the little things that feed energy to your team, wether it is hustle, toughness, and intimidation it may rub off on other players. God knows the Raptors need a leader by example, I think he can be.

Theres lots of tall skinny centers that came in and never really worked out. Thats what Val is for me. It seems like the bigger bodies tend to stick better, having that weight down low seems to be a huge advantage. The heavy weight guys are like cousins, bynum, shaq. Even smaller but less talented heavy guys seem to stick longer. Thats part of what give Reggie his advantage, Glen Davis, Sullinger will be one.

Not everyone will ever put on the weight, Bosh tried for years.

So if they are tied in peoples minds then I take the heavier guy and thats Kanter. I think that weight helps you battle for more rebounds and beat people up in the lane. Plus hes got a low post game that we never have. I think Kanter would be a perfect player to put next to davis.

If people want to pay 10 mill for Gasol, why not just take Kanter, hes the rich mans Gasol for less money.

And then there's guys like Pau, Bosh, Noah, Camby, Tyson Chandler, etc.

They all came into the league skinny.

And they became more effective when they put on the weight. Why wait for the weight. The other guys I mentioned had a better chance to be more effective early. The earlier you have the weight the better you are at knowing how to use it.

Have you ever had a friend whos like 6'3 and close to 300 pounds, those guys are exhausting to try and push around. But a friend whos 6'8 and 200 pounds, you can push him around a bit. That extra weight makes a huge difference.

Why is everyone hyping up Biyombo as a lottery pick? This is the most irrational out of nowhere prospect I've seen in a while. Who wants a 6'9 center? People don't even know his age let alone how good he is.

This is my ideal draft board as well. Exactly this.

The way prospects are dropping like flies, who knows, you may not even be able to get Biyombo if you trade down with the 6th pick.

He's getting hyped up just about as much as the great Ivan Chiraev.
