Well there is still quite a vast difference between tearing and between pulling up a muscle. Tearing is a very serious injury while puling a muscle can happen often and isnt that serious at all. Happens plenty with weight lifting and it doesnt even indicate big weights but in most cases indicates that a proper warm up wasnt done and one jumped to bigger weights without getting warmed up. Without warm up you can pull a muscle even on a light weights.

Jonas had twitter, but at the recent time account has been suspended. Could it be because of rookie transition program? :)

I don't think he has ever had twitter.

I think several people have made fake accounts, but I don't remember one being verified as real.

Hey guys, I don't really know if it was a tear or a pull and Jonas himself doesn't seem to bother about that either, just my friend is buying sneakers from the guy (actually trading sneakers to Jack Daniels) and we met him last weekend and his hand was covered in some green medication, so he told that he got hurt in the gym etc... But he seemed perfectly fine and was partying a little yesterday, so he's fine. All I wanted to say is that there is a huge difference considering weighlifting in Europe and NBA.
Oh yeah, since I live in a small country I have a privilege to talk to your guy ;)

That's not true at all. A pulled muscle is a tear, there are various degrees of tears depending on the severity of injury. A more minor tear, or grade 1 strain, is just a partial tear that heals on its own or with treatment.

^^^He's right. Didn't want to interject and get all technical but a muscle strain is a slight tearing of the muscle. Just like a sprained ankle is the overstretching and slight tearing of ligaments. Anytime you hear "muscle tear" in the media about an athlete that means full tear as in surgery needed to fix it. All minor injuries are called strains or "pulled" just to keep it simple for readers.

All of this is meaningless anyway. Jonas is fine.

Jonas pulling a muscle does not indicate that there is huge wioghtlifting in Europe and NBA. Jonas could easily pull up a muscle in Europe just as well because more than the weights size more influence on tears or pulls have proper warm up.

For me that Jonas pulled a musclke means not that there is huge difference in weight lifting but more that Jonas decided to go for a showguy and went straight to pulling heavier weifghts that he is used to do in Europe without doing a proper warm up.

Poeple forget how imprtant those borin g warm ups are. In weightlifting or generally in basketball. Those who are most throughout in their warm-ups receive significantly less injuries than those who do it by mechanics as a must.

Some injuries ofcourse cannot be prevented even with best warm-ups but there are quite a number of those that coul have been avoided if the player would have been more throughout with their warm-ups.

There is big difference, for example, during my workout I bench press 50 to 60 kg 4x12 and I weight 80 kg, the point of that is not to gain extra weight and not to lose any speed or quickness. Ksystof Lavrinovic, on the other hand, who's a top athlete in Europe bench presses like 60-70 kg and his weight is what? Smth like 105kg? Basically, in Europe we workout in the gym practically just to keep our muscles toned and NBA is all about strength. As Jonas said himself that he started with light weights and they were putting heavier weights on, so eventually he cracked his muscles and it was a proper workout with trainers. Most likely he will gain some weight the upcoming season :D

Well you can't just call a guy and tell him: "I know that you have loads of sneakers and I share the same size as you, may I have some of them".

Talking about pulled muscle, its not like lifting routines are any different anywhere. I think what happened, he was among new people and everything, wanted to showoff, do his best, didn't wanted to say stop and it led to that.
